THE BAJAN VIBE
Since Max Martin has the hit-formula and he repeats over and over again with different artists, do you think it was a joke about it? I mean, there are several songs in the Oops! album which sounds the same and Oops! seems BOMT in different 'tune'. Well, even Crazy sounds the same, lbr. Link to comment
jordeezy river red
The timing and beat are same but chord progression and melody are different. I think it was more "Oops" I made a hit again Link to comment
Super Mods Puppy Posted January 24, 2020 Super Mods Share Posted January 24, 2020 Maybe it’s more Max Martin than Britney because it seems she doesn’t really think that highly of the song. Link to comment
PokemonSpears
I don't know, but this article is really good https://www.papermag.com/switched-on-pop-britney-spears-2641572847.html?rebelltitem=6#rebelltitem6 Link to comment

ILikeChillinWithYou
I think people back then had thought that she’d be a one hit wonder and then “Oops!... She Did It Again” If we look at it that way most late 90s-early 00s songs sounded quite alike, not to mention the Oops album had a fair share of BOMT rejects like You Got It All and Where Are You Now Link to comment
frederiickx
It's more like "Oops, I did it again" as in she continues to give us smash hits Link to comment

No one thought she would be a one hit wonder either as Crazy and Sometimes were both successful bops. Britney was leading the whole industry and they had a lot of pressure to follow up after Baby. Oops was the same formula with a stronger melody. And obviously the Oops gimmick. I'm back *******, I'm doing it again. Link to comment
Toxic.Latin
ITS MORE LIKE, HEY I AM HERE AGAIN DOMINATING AND SMASHING POP MUSIC AND IT REALLY DEFINED WHO WAS THE IT GIRL, MEANWHILE IT ESTABLISHED BRITNEY AS THE REAL PRINCESS OF POP WHILE XTINE WAS JUST ANOTHER GIRL TRYING HARD. YES,, BRITNEY DID THAT. Link to comment
frederiickx
Ugh, the end of this iconic performance when she goes "Oops, I did it again" knowing she KILLED IT. Link to comment

I mean, we all know it was the message to the public. But my question is, like an inside joke. Double meaning. Link to comment

I sometimes wonder what her carreer would look like without this performance, because this was IT. The one that sent her from being a performer to becoming a legend. Link to comment
