Taylor Swift is the current biggest name in pop BUT does she actually have anything iconic?

I don't see her as icon level. But also think she is just a different type of artist. Her appeal is that she is kind of every-woman/accessible and is known more for her writing and storytelling than her performance. Britney is more about owning the stage and escaping into another world with her and sort of the contrast between that and her sweet personality.

I'm sure for her fans and for basic white girls there is plenty of iconic moments.

I think as fans & gays we overestimate what average Joe and Jane know about Britney. I think most average people on the street wouldn't remember much else besides the BOMT pigtales, Oops chorus, snake for Slave, kiss with Madonna and the head-shaving incident.

She's popular, but not iconic. I mean, she didn't bring anything new on the table. Everything she did, someone else did it already. And no one copied her. When Britney became 30, she already has a lot of shaping done in the music industry, lots of younger singers who wanted to be her, etc.

True, I don’t remember anything else that I can connect with her but Shake it off. Since then… there was that song umm with all of her alter egos or music video looks or whatever. It was a polished production. But honestly? I don’t really see that huge Taylor Swift craze around me. Or maybe me and my friends are too boomer for this.  I can live with that.

LoL I mean she is a billionaire now. Every single cent she’s pending now might make a dollar.
