What’s your thoughts on Britney calling The Onyx Hotel Tour a “mistake”

The was I gasped when I read what she said about that iconic tour. In her book, she claims that it was a mistake. She also refers to it as “that stupid tour”

The vibe was dark and depressing and if that is how she felt then it is a fact .  DWAD and Oops world Tour were 100% better.

Well for her, in the situation and circumstance she was is, she's saying it was a mistake timewise. She might have enjoyed it if she had had a break.

The times she's going all out dancing, I enjoy. The standing on the moving platform for toxic was a total waste considering how amazing the choreo was for it in the ABC special.

Totally agree that it was too ***ual but it fit the tone of the album.

She definitely projects her feelings about this time of her life onto this tour. She needed a break and wasn't into it.

I'll always prefer DWAD

Exactly! But what I think she meant was... She was pressured to be ***ual but she could have said no. She wasn't under any conservatorship during that time. Maybe she was a people pleaser and couldn't say no. And eventually it caught up with her in the worst possible way

I loved that tour and it’s the only one I’ve seen live. I thought it was mature, dark, sensual and pushed boundaries. 
 

I guess Britney is the one who lived and experienced it though, so if she says it was bad for her and she hated it, then it is what it is!! 
 

I think maybe any tour would have made her feel this way though at that time - she was clearly absolutely DONE with fame, tour life, hair & makeup, the grind basically. She probably felt like a performing monkey every single day and just wanted it to disappear, at least for a while.

Enter Kevin, who made it all go away. Rewatching Chaotic, he honestly gives me such bad vibes. He is vile imo, he clearly wasn’t that into Britney and just saw dollar signs. She really was that desperate to do the exact opposite of what was expected of her, that somehow Kevin Federline seemed appealing as a prospective husband and father.

it breaks my heart because it was my second fav tour and to know she was suffering while doing it is sad  i think it was a very interesting tour, it went along really well with the itz era and her vibe at the time.

Maybe because it was overtly ***ual? as someony said she was deeply unhappy and as we she in her doc, frustrated.

Honestly it was relieving to here cus I also hate that tour! 
 

my least favorite Britney show off all time, everything looked cheaper than pom

you go from dwad which was like a circus/broadway show

to dancing on top of suit cases?

And the reason it sucked was because of Bryan spears not suprised her family was the reason

I think, from an artist point of view, it's very different how you feel about the project in the beginning when it's just conceieved and then later when it's been done a million times. If you remember MTV's footage on the tour, Britney was very involved with the show direction. 

If she had a break before that and had she met a normal man and a father of her children and not Kevin, she would probably think of the tour in different terms.

I respect her opinion.. but imo The Onyx Hotel Tour was perfect in every possible respect!! I didn't find a single flaw in this tour..

If there are people I envy, they are the people who got to experience Onyx live

I was in shock. This was the tour that turned me into a fan. I understand that if you were already a fan of hers before It might be viewed as a downgrade from her previous tour DWAD. But on the point of view of a new fan then this tour was perfect.

The tour was so well structured and it was a truly Hotel immersive experience. We got to see the check in lobby, the bar cabaret, the garden, the shadow room (my favorite interlude), the bedroom with the surveillance cameras and the check out.

The cabaret remixes for her old hits were a perfect match for the tour concept.

We got so many iconic lines from this tour like But the world keeps moving and we keep moving with it and everything we experience it makes us realize how beautiful life really is and I haven’t sang Sometimes yet, Sometimes I run, sometimes I hide…oh gosh…I never liked that song anyway…peace and Who knows maybe if you’re really lucky…I might marry you. 
 

I loved this tour then, and I will love it forever. There was so much interaction and rawness to it.

Shame to hear as it truly is one of her best tours in my opinion - I loved everything about it!
