HMC has been on its own for nearly 3 months. The daily radio gains is very little and the sales is very stable in top 40 after so many new releases from big artists.

It opened with 48,000 copies pure sales first week, #1 worldwide for 10 days, much higher than Rihanna's and Taylor's lead singles sales

Lots of payola. The song is only performing "well" on the radio, thanks to Elton's checks. On other platforms, it's already dead. How to explain the song out of Spotify's top 200, losing strength on Itunes with each update, but in the top 10 of US radio? The song was not promoted by Britney, but had massive investment across all platforms. This is already more than enough to perform better than it is currently doing. 

Rihanna and Taylor are streaming forces. Digital Sales for them don't make any difference.

HMC is all payola, it is only doing well on radios. Also in the UK, it benefited from the multiple versions Elton created to boost sales.  The song isn't even a hit when you look at streaming performance or compare it to cold heart. Im glad it did give Britney Top 10s everywhere!

Too early to judge, but Rihanna's song seems to be following HMC footsteps. Her #2 debut benefited from payola + Billboard transitions from Neilson to Media, where radios have a bigger impact on the chart. Doesn't matter anyway as this is not her first single from a new era that I am hoping we get before the superbowl :ricackle_rihanna_laugh_lol_haha_lmao_hehe:

It’s been three months and the song is still in the Top 50 of iTunes but sure it’s all payola :umwtf_britney_wth_um_wow_eyes_big_okay:

The payola prophets in this thread make me laugh :haha_britney_laugh_lol_lmao_hehe_haha_bw_black_white: This song was determined to smash on radios. And it still does. No artist pays 3 months of radio payola and you know that if you have any understanding of the music industry. There was most likely the classic radio deal in the first week where it has enormous airplay but after that it slowly turned normal. Britney did always decent in the download section but was lacking in streaming so this is no surprise either. Still, the song pulls consistent 1m+ updates on spotify global so this is more than enough and far from being bad.

Y’all don’t even know what the word payola means lol radio doesn’t work with payola unless there’s a specific radio deal that labels pay for to have all iheart stations for example play the song on rotation and those costs are astronomical so it’s usually always only seen on the first day of a new songs release- songs take time to peak over radio and HMC’s run has been organic all the way through other than Day 1 when it had its radio deal. That’s why songs like Sia’s Unstoppable are peaking on radio after MONTHS because they slowly climb and add spins. Unstoppable is higher than HMC now on overall radio and it’s getting less daily streams than HMC. HMC is also still Top 40 Shazam in the US and sitting at 22 most Shazam’d track on the global chart. That is the definition of organic and radio looks at that daily to assess what to play. HMC is doing phenomenally and it’s because the GP is carrying the song just as much as fans.

HMC gets everyday around 1.5 million streams, it's not insane or anything but it's stable. We have to remember this is the first Britney song in streaming era and she doesn't even promote it :tiffhair_miss_ms_new_york_ny_fix_hair_nodding_listening:

Britney isn't desperate like Tay that has billion tactics to get numbers :tiffhair_miss_ms_new_york_ny_fix_hair_nodding_listening: Imagine Britney doing all that and releasing 6 new albums within 3 years like her, she would be as big as her in streaming :explainlol_stare_spin: 

You act like your fave Tay doesn't use payola, even with playlisting.
