Imo it could've been the sophomore single instead of Sometimes. It's a shame FTBOMBH was chosen as the 4th US single.. such a forgotten classic. 

Yeah no one could figure out the group and solo futuristic sets from the video, but damn she looked good. And that orange t shirt in the pillow fight scenes makes me think of the late 90s-early 00s old navy shirts that I wanted so badly. 

If anybody likes to read music critics this is a great review of the song from a UK perspective where babygirl hit #1 again.

 

It’s because originally the concept was Britney waking up and remembering the good times she had with her ex and it’s revealed she’s pregnant. It was too controversial to have a teen portray pregnancy so they reshot new scenes to add in.

Good info! I wasn't aware. And watching it again for some reason they kept that opening shot in the bed where she looks obviously pregnant lol. Never noticed that

Thank you! Yeah it’s a bold move for her just like her dying in Everytime. Makes you think how the video would’ve turned out, maybe like a Sometimes feel.

Yeah and it's actually kind of crazy that it took all the way until after filming for (I'm guessing) Jive execs to kill the pregnancy theme given that they were so heavily leaning into the virginal Britney public image at this exact point in time.
