the voice within really is beautiful and kinda understand why most fans have it on their top but I don't know Hurt is something I always go back to.

I so faked tears to Hurt when I was a child about my future-non-existent-and-realistically-hard-to-have boyfriends that now I have to (Jesus) Say Yes!

I like it and she was in her vocal peak during back to basics, however the song is just too over the top dramatic for my taste. I prefer Beautiful. 
 

the story behind Hurt is that Christina asked Linda Perry to write a song about the pain from loss and grief, knowing Linda had just lost her dad. Linda jokingly was like “ugh this B ITTCH! She KNOWS how I’m feeling” LOL. That’s basically how hurt came to be!
