We don't know why brit never even acknowledged this song, it still does better for the standards though it'll be gold in US too without even charting at all.

To be fair, Mariah also release couple of remix of that song and promoted it heavily! Britney didn’t recognize that song. 
 

I don’t think it will ever be diamond but song has potential to chart ! If Britney just perform it or promote it as nostalgic song, it can crack into billboard 100

Even Kylie minogue despite releasing a Christmas album, doesn't recognize santa Baby, oddly in the UK it's actually popular and now charts on the UK singles charts. 

 

Even Kylie has her own Christmas hit embraced by the general public. 

 

I think Britney pays it dust just like Xtina pays her xmas album dust.
