The Grammys, which take place March 14, will remain largely a virtual event.

According to a new report from Variety, the ceremony will be held outside without an audience. Most performances and presenters will be pre-recorded.

"A number of live performances are planned, but many are likely to be pre-recorded"

I feel like a lot of award shows are just doing them out of tradition, but the times have seriously changed. Award shows are basically irrelevant if you ask me.

I'm scared for their ratings :lollipop_britney_sucker_dancing_party_2012: Also, justice for The Weeknd.

Thoughts, Exaholics?

The Academy Awards is annually one of the highest rated programs on television (by far). So no, awards shows aren't irrelevant.

So obviously some of the performances last night were live and some were prerecorded. I believe the first three were all live right? Bruno was def prerecorded. What did you guys think of the new format they used? I thought it was actually really cool and intimate and the sound was actually amazing for once. They did some magic to make everyone sound good.
