  1. No. You're on the losing end because you haven't presented any sort of cohesive argument to back up your opinion. I never said Dua was a legendary performer. However, Future Nostalgia is definitely one of the most exciting pop releases we've received in at least the last 5 years. I'd love to hear what albums you find superior. I'm sure your choices are...illuminating...
  2. So, art isn't subjective; your interpretation of it is...in case you haven't learned by now. But you're right. There's no point in arguing about Dua- you're on the losing end of that argument.
  3. 1) Britney will always and forever be my fave, so you can relax on that. 2) Constructive criticism implies that you have offered a well-reasoned or valid opinion about the subject at hand, and I'm sorry to say sis, but you haven't :-/
  4. It must be difficult to be wrong about so much.
  5. I personally am grateful for all of the bops she is giving us during one of the most difficult times of our lifetimes. Can't wait to hear more!
  6. Not only did she deliver one of the most fun, cohesive pop albums of the last decade, she gave us two amazing club albums to follow and an innovative concert experience. Lots to be proud of there.
  7. The Academy Awards is annually one of the highest rated programs on television (by far). So no, awards shows aren't irrelevant.
  8. So she chugged energy drinks, and stayed up for 40 hours to make music THAT boring? That is impressive.
  9. These stunning single covers deserve better music. Disco is just not. It.
  10. I absolutely agree. Not only did Dua deliver the best pop album of 2020, she doubled down and gave us not only 1, but 2 remix albums, and a really innovative concert with Studio 2054. Chromatica is a lot of fun, but doesn't quite hit as hard as Future Nostalgia- it will be interesting to see how it ages as well. Disco was boring AF, and overly redundant.
  11. If only people put the same energy into watching Black is King as they did into watching The Muppets...
  12. Does she though? I think she definitely used to, but in the last five years all she's delivered is constant retread of the same overly self-indulgent aesthetic. At least she's consistent though?
  13. I could never be bored of the subject matter! As for Beyonce: I think she's an amazing performer, but I think what she has tried to accomplish with her last three visual albums her sister does better and more authentically. While I do think that Beyonce has been able to make black culture easier to digest for the public at large, there are many many many other examples of black art that are much more representative and genuine. The last three visual albums of hers have all shared a similar aesthetic visually and sonically so it would be nice to see her step out of her comfort zone , and try something a bit new. But that's difficult to do when you're a cyborg.
  14. I'm a person of color and while I do appreciate being represented like this, as a whole I was kind of bored by the entire thing. I would like to see something new and exciting from her and this unfortunately is not it.
