Rina Sawayama is a British singer who makes some amazing pop music. Her upcoming album, SAWAYAMA, is set to be released on April 17. She has released 3 singles off of it so far:

  • the aggresive nu metal "STFU!", which talks about Rina's experiences with racism and stereotypes of Asian people
  •  the confident disco "Comme Des Garçons (Like The Boys)"
  • the upbeat, energetic "XS", which criticizes celebrities and capitalism in the face of climate change

All songs are truly excellent in their own way, check them out:

This song is good! I'm going to listen to more.

You probably wouldn't enjoy her previous 2 albums because they're folksy (I love them, though), but this one is pop perfection. Her songwriting, her voice, the production - perfection. Her tone is very Selena Gomez esque, but Gabrielle is actually a great vocalist and has power behind her voice. :brit2016: Start with these (my favorites from the album): Invisible, Strange, So Far So Good, Magic and Miss You. :madance:

Although it is a cover of the everlasting 70s hit not a new sound, but this cover of "Ain't No Sunshine" by BoA deserves some love, m'gurl sang her heart out

BoA is a legend. I haven't delved too deep into her discography, but I absolutely love her 3 latest efforts and also "Atlantis Princess". The early 00s vibes are so GOOD. :jumpney:

BoA is amazing, and I can say that because I worked close to her personally.

You can throw anything at her and she would do it.

Might as well add her latest works:

BoA - ONE SHOT TWO SHOT (it's super fun techno/pop song written and composed by herself)

BoA - Jazzclub (this one was shot in New York, I have personal behind the scenes shots for this one) :hiii:

BoA - AMOR (I adore this song, it's just so pleasant to listen to)

"Long Way Home" by Lapsley is an album that I've been in love with for years now. She has released 3 EPs and an album so far and a new album is on the way. "Long Way Home" is her debut album and it's freakin' incredible. I don't even know how to describe it. It's like... Electropop mixed with dream pop and ambient music. If there's an album that never fails to take me to another dimension, it's this one. :katycream: She's not just a songwriter, though. She's also an incredible vocalist AND producer. We stan a multitalented icon. :katycry: I suggest starting with the more conventional songs: "Hurt Me", "Operator" and "Love is Blind". "Operator" is sort of a gay anthem because it's very campy. Also - the music video features drag queens. :raven: The weirder songs are my favorites, though. "Cliff", "Station", "Leap" and "Falling Short" are INCREDIBLE. This album is a genuine masterpiece. I'm not exaggerating. :tiffanycries:

Anyone likes Karol G? I don't, but in a surprising turn of events, Mexican legend, Laura León ended up recording a version of Karol's "Tusa" for a festival and it was very well received.

Karol G was asked about it and said she was happy with it, and even hinted at a possible collaboration to record a proper studio version with Laura León.

Well, Laura León's version for the festival just leaked, so here it is our future international hit:

:blol:

Laura is such an icon in Mexican culture. She's by no means a good singer, but her genre is more of a guilty pleasure and it's always played at every party, wedding, etc. It would be amazing if she finally got the international recognition she deserves. You heard it first here lol
