  1. Ugh, my first two picks were Carly Rae Jepsen's "Run Away With Me" and Kylie Minogue's "Into The Blue", but those are already taken, so... Anyway, I'm choosing AURORA's "The River".
  2. Kaitlin Bennet (@KaitMarieox on Twitter) is a conservative and Trump supporter. She's known as "gun girl" and is often made fun of because she once soiled herself during a party and I think also admitted to soiling her pants sometimes. She doesn't believe that institutional racism is real, believes that racism against white people is a thing, is against Black Lives Matter and Antifa, among many other things. This is her Twitter profile picture:
  3. Well, Slant Magazine called Fetch The Bolt Cutters a "prismatic pop experiment", so I guess yeah... Also, some other albums on that list that don't really belong are Ungodly Hour and good to know, because they're both R&B albums, but they're still very good!
  4. Many great songs were released this year, but I don't think I enjoyed any song as much as Rina Sawayama's "Dynasty"! That's what I vote for.
  5. I literally forgot that they had a single coming out and only remembered about it a day late... Uhm, anyway, I listened to it and... I'm disappointed. A bit basic, not too interesting, a bit repetitive... maybe I need to give it time to grow on me, I don't know. But it's definitely no "Think Of Me", "In My Blood" or "On Your Side".
  6. Why do I fail to see SAWAYAMA on that list? Well, in any case, that is something that needs to be fixed immediately.
  7. Well, uhh... there's not a lot going on in my life right now, so the most interesting thing I did recently was buying Lemonade, Stripped and Chromatica CDs. Apart from that, I started watching some mukbang videos on YouTube and it's not as bad as I thought...
  8. I think "Selfish" is one of the weaker songs on Femme Fatale... it's cute, but not that special and definitely not single-worthy, especially not when "Inside Out", "Up N' Down", "Don't Keep Me Waiting", "Scary" and "Gasoline" are all right there.
  9. 2 days ago, a list of the top 20 best pop albums of 2020 so far was published on Idolator, an online music blog. 10. My pick is Carly Rae Jepsen's "When I Needed You"!
  11. All of the links posted in this thread are now down, so... does anyone know where I can watch the video?
  12. YUP! SAWAYAMA just has it all... the vocals, the production, the diversity, the lyrics, the energy... ugh, who's doing it like her? No one!
  13. A-Are you actually serious right now? Making jokes about s3xu@l @ss@ult, as if that doesn't cause so many people mental health issues and trauma? That's so disgusting and I don't get how you thought this was appropriate to think about, let alone post.
  14. Yikes... the thing about consent is that it's supposed to be reversible, meaning that, at any given moment, if one of the people participating starts feeling uncomfortable and wants to stop, the other(s) has / have to respect that and stop. I'm not trying to argue over whether the allegation is true or not, I'm just pointing out that I really don't like this way of thinking. https://www.bustle.com/articles/178198-planned-parenthood-graphic-uses-fries-to-explain-consent-in-a-way-anyone-can-understand
  15. Now, on the topic of Yemen: the country is going through a massive humanitarian crisis right now. Thousands are left struggling and without access to basic necessities because of a war that has been raging as a region for a few years now. This website contains a list of petitions you can sign and organizations / funds you can donate to to support Yemen's population. They need our help now! https://yemenhumancrisis.carrd.co/
  16. Oh, alright then, it looks like I misunderstood your post and I'm sorry. I'm glad we got that cleared up. I am not yet sure and I need to take more time to educate myself on this issue, so I can't speak on it, but from what I've read so far, people are saying that the pyramids were not built by slaves, but by paid and fed Egyptian citizens. Some have also added that these monuments were built by people tens of thousands of years ago, so the same rules don't apply to them as things that happened hundreds of years ago (much more recent). These are not my opinions, I'm just bringing up points I've seen other people use when asked these questions. As for the part about where to draw the line, well... I think we can get rid of monuments that celebrate awful people, leave those of respectable people and create new statues of people who deserve monuments who celebrate them in place of the torn down ones.
  17. First of all, neither of them achieved anything remotely comparable. A big part of their legacy being racists and slave owners. Second of all, defending white supremacists? Are you sure that is the hill you wanna die on? Defending white supremacists and slave owners? Third, according to Atlas Obscura, Nathan Bedford Forrest's statue was, indeed, created to celebrate him. Also, statues in general just seem to be celebratory, don't you think? You won't see people erecting statues of H!tl3r in public spaces to criticize him. Statues seem to be usually erected to honour people who are deemed important.
  18. Some of my favourites right now include: Christina Aguliera - "Not Myself Tonight" + "Bionic" + "Lift Me Up" TWICE - "LOVE FOOLISH" ALMA ft. Tove Lo - "Worst Behaviour" AURORA - "Animal" + "The River" Lady Gaga - "Rain On Me" Keisha Shade - "Get Over It." Rina Sawayama - "Dynasty" Carly Rae Jepsen - "Run Away With Me" Cyndi Lauper - "Into The Nightlife" Lady Gaga - "Marry The Night"
  19. Well, for one, {Bi~ΟΠ~iC} is a very long album (24 songs). It consists mostly of sassy, fun electropop songs and soulful R&B ballads. It has the bouncy electro-R&B / dancehall "Woohoo", the haunting electro "Birds Of Prey", the funky new wave "Monday Morning", "Vanity"... I don't even know how to describe that song, it's a wild ride start-to-finish. If you want to listen to it, some good songs to start with are: "Not Myself Tonight" "Elastic Love" "Desnudate" "Glam" "Prima Donna" "My Girls" "Vanity"
  20. Yeah... don't get me wrong, I really like Femme Fatale, but it doesn't really have anything on {Bi~ΟΠ~iC}. The lyrics aren't really as good, it's not experimental, it's not a big change in direction... pretty much the only advantages I can think of off the top of my head are that it was more commercially successful and it aged a bit better.
