Why does Britney wear big amounts of hair for her shows?

I've noticed this since the Circus tour, though the Circus tour didn't have it as much as Femme Fatale and POM. I can see many female artists doing that nowadays...

can someone explain why? it doesn't look good (on any female entertainer) and it might restrict her from dancing (not that she's been doing much lately)

I miss the days where she had either her own normal hair or just a few extensions added

But it's true. It's something she's always used, because all dancers do to some extent (and that's fine, when it's not overused), but it's gotten worse in later years for obvious reasons. It's why the extensions always reappear soon enough, anyway.

Yea I hate that it's so long. A few inches past the shoulders would work for her.  There's really no point to having it so long when she just throws it up into a raggedy pony tail half way through the show anyways.

she lip-syncs more since she's been wearing them, that's clearly the only logical explanation why she doesn't sing live
