It's a good idea and labels do this with a lot of their artists, especially artists who sell more digitally than physical.

I checked my local Targets stock online. It said they had 3 left.

I know it sounds counterproductive, but it's a way to spin the general public's perception of the album and Britney, plus generally speaking... Pop music listeners buy their music digitally, it's mostly fans who purchase the physical album.

I'm not surprised.  After BJ and 'Pretty Girls' flopped so embarrassingly hard, they probably (and understandably) assumed Glory wouldn't be met with such a demand.  It's awesome that they were wrong, even if people are having trouble finding it.  Now they just need to send out more shipments ASAP to make sure it's available everywhere, especially next week after the VMAs.

I went to Barnes and Noble. It wasn't on the shelf. The guy checked the computer and saw that they had it in stock. It was still in the box in the back. #FAIL

My Target on Long Island had 6 copies out, but their music section is always in shambles anyway.

they were probably based from the performance of the previous album an Britney's albums sales growth from an album to the other. Which means : It might be the first time Britney outsells her previous album excluding greatest hits). Nobody was ready for this

We are in the digital age of music. Its shouldnt be a shock that a progressive pop artist isnt selling that many physical copies.
