Britney wants to redo Beyonce's song "Daddy Lessons" with Jay-Z: "So many people have done remixes to my songs without my knowledge"

We don't even know if she's really pissed. If she is, she has the right to, it's her problem, not ours.

I believe what must piss her is not so much that people remix her songs, but the fact that she isn't even notified. She doesn't have to, because she's not the author of the song, but just out of courtesy it would be nice if a peer was like "hey Britney, I'm doing this mashup of your song" or whatever.

I feel like that's what she finds disrespectful, not that her music is being used

But she didn’t write or produce the songs so why would she be notified if they are remixed? The songs technically belong to the producers and songwriters

Just out of curiosity, what is Britney’s biggest hit that she’s written or co-wrote? Is it Everytime?

Or shade the use of Toxic at a rave or EDM festival. Is homegirl aware that remixes of a pop classic give it relevance and a modern twist? Should we start punishing producers or DJs for remixing or sampling pop hits? It’s like she purposely wants her legacy to fade into obscurity. So much entitlement and ofc, her fans will enable this sort of attitude. I just hope the Beyhive won’t drag her after this but I wouldn’t be surprised.

If you read again, she only has an issue with not being asked first.

Do you know how many DJs or random producers from Amsterdam to Ibiza to Nevada are remixing their own versions of Toxic or BOMT? Even if they were to publish it on streaming services, it has to go through clearance from the publisher which then I would assume the label or songwriter/producer is notified of. Last I was made aware of, Britney isn’t really involved in her music career anymore.

I think she's upset because she wanted to do different renditions of her old hits but TCon didn't allowed her. Watch her face the moment the tribute starts for her at Radio Disney awards in 2017. She looks upset and looks pensive.

The first Disney girl singing her song Oops! is singing it in a very different, more country way

Britney posted herself singing BOMT las year in a VERY different rendition.

Basically, she's upset everyone else got to have artistic freedom with HER MUSIC.

I don’t think anyone was stopping Britney from performing stripped down or acoustic versions of her own songs. In fact, that’s what fans wanted but Britney always insisted that she’s always more of an entertainer/dancer and was less about “live vocals” (even though she claimed that she always sung live). After the FFT, she couldn’t even be bothered to pre-record vocals which pissed off a lot of fans. I think there was some resentment as she got older bc she envisioned herself performing at those award shows but maybe she felt like it wasn’t up to a specific standard. Who knows. Maybe she’ll talk about it in her book!

Well it’s been 2 years now and she can remix and do whatever she wants with her music instead of complaining and complaining again. Why doesn’t she put out a Britney remix album/playlist where she’s selected remixes of her songs? Make a difference and take charge of your discography and artistry instead of whinging every Monday :heresthetea_reading_telling_glasses_talking_preaching_facts_paper_wendy_williams:
