I'll chose one of these from the Britney era - it's raw, edgy, vulnerable, ****; and she was finally starting to break out of that bubblegum pop/cutesy image.

I love this photo, but sadly have a bad connotation of it since it's the one RS used for their front cover story 'An American Tragedy', but RS is trash anyway
