Latin American singer Lali released her new album today and guess what? She samples the iconic 'Stop!' from '(You drive me) Crazy into her new song 'Obsesión' 

 

Lali is an Argentine singer, actress, dancer, and model and she's currently a pop sensation in latin America and Spain. So sorry for those non-Spanish speakers, but the song is a bop!

I just finished listening to the entire record.

The album is really good, but the stronger tracks are the singles, including Incondicional. 

Not only she sampled “Crazy” but she also sampled MORIAAAAA MEAAMOOOR. 

People from Argentina know how iconic this is.

Too bad she decided to use it in a song that clearly is a re-hash of any regular song from the very beginning of the 2000s... It's definitely a tribute to that time, but nothing more. The lyrics and her singing are pretty current though, so it's a weird mixture... But lately Lali has been referencing Britney directly and indirectly in such a cute and respectful way, I'm so here for it!! <3

She name-drops Britney in the second verse in this AMAZING song from January 2022. THIS is the Lali I love and want: original, heartfelt, sassy, mature, true to herself... And she's a fantaaaaaaastic dancer, as you can clearly see:

The official video is out now, give her a chance, she's an incredible artist. Last month she sold out her first full stadium here! (50.000 audience) I was there, incredible!

She’s 31 and she’s already done 4 successful albums before this one that just came out. 

She’s huge in Latin America and trying to make it overseas. So a little support would be nice.
