Who wore it better? Olivia Rodrigo VS Britney

I never noticed this before, but in Olivia Rodrigo’s video for her song “Brutal”, she wears the same dress Britney rocked at the 2003 AMAs. I know it’s kinda silly to ask this in the Britney section, but who do you think wore it better?

I think the answer is pretty obvious. I like that Olivia paid homage to this underrated look, but the dress 👗 looks like it was molded for Britney’s body. I mean, her legs in this photo made me question my gayness. 

Also, does anyone remember this moment from the show? Kinda funny but also cringey.

Lol I did say it was silly to ask here. Basically, I just needed a reason to show off how stunning Britney looked in the dress. But that’s not a dig at anyone, I do like Olivia’a look too, the hair matching the dress is kind of a serve.

The dress is lined with a skin coloured material, you can see it peeking out at the top.

I’m surprised Olivia hasn’t released any new music. She came out with Drivers License when she was 17, she’s now 20. Three years isn’t really a long time in terms of growth as a person but in music years, she can be forgotten like that 

 

Her whole thing before was an angsty teen, drama, revenge narrative. Now that she’s in her 20’s Will the angsty thing still work? That pop punk rock sound never seems to last in the mainstream market. Avril, Ashlee, Demi have all shown that that sound resonates with teens but once those teens grow up, the masses move on.

Olivia Rodrigo is too reliant on other artists. It's like she wants to be Britney and Taylor. If she wants to prove her song writing chops, she can't be taking an entire melody from Taylor for a whole song on a short album and then wear a Britney dress in her music video.
