I don't think it's that easy tbh. Some artists have a clause in their contracts that prevents them from releasing old songs. Maybe Britney's under the same restriction. 

Or maybe she just doesn't care enough to give us a little gift.

I think she had recorded 50% of album but they want from her GH hits, so she moved plans to 2005, but she had a child.

I think she's done. We don't even know how is her contract with RCA. I think they are not gonna push her to release anything because she could end them with a drag in seconds!
