Honestly, Selena doesn’t deserve any of this petty negativity, if it’s aimed at her. I get what Selena’s trying to do with that speech, and attacking her like that, if it’s for her, seems childish and unnecessary. If you are comfortable with your own opinions and body, you don’t give a crap about someone having another opinion than yours.

She just sounds like a bitter, angry, stubborn, unforgiving, emotionally erratic person now. And while I genuinely do understand why she is how she is and the terrible things she has endured, it doesn't seem to me like she does anything to improve her situation or seek peace. She seems to actively do the opposite, frankly.

I am thankful for the fact that she is able to express herself however she damn well pleases, she deserves that right as much as anyone else and has earned it. It took major strength on her part to fight her way to freedom and I'm forever grateful that she did. That doesn't mean I like what she has to say though or the way she chooses to express herself. Every now and then she'll post something totally coherent and introspective and it makes me smile. But in general, I feel my connection to her slowly waning and it makes me sad.

God I love Britney but I can't help but feel this is just going to continue until she eventually gets cancelled. One day she is going to say something she can't take back and the world is not a very forgiving place.

She had the world fighting for her and it felt like everyone was uniting to see her happy. It would be such a shame for all that to be forgotten because of some Instagram posts. This isn't just the GP we're talking about either, this is people within her fanbase...her biggest supporters.

This speech is from 2016.. I don't see why you should attack someone for what they said 6 years ago. I think we all can agree that people changing a lot in 6 years and we say things, which we wouldn't say today. I think Brit should chill a little bit.

Well, People want to see her happy. But what she posts mostly on instagram are nude photos with serioud face expression, or bashing/lashing out at her family/selena or others, or sensitive photos (lion with chain) .... like she's so out of touch with the world and don't know whats right and wrong.

I don't like Madonna's social media antics either, but there's a difference between Britney's borderline obsessive vendetta against Selena for (at least seemingly) no good reason and Madonna reminding people to respect her legacy. Madonna even showed support for Cardi after Cardi called her out. Having a social media manager is not the same as being in a conservatorship. The only people who are saying she should be put back in one are the people in her IG comments, and such posts are only making it harder for her. I'm not saying those people are right - in fact, I think they're idiots, but Britney isn't exactly helping her case.

But that is kind of beyond the point. I mean, trust me, I am not a Selena fan (not a hater either) but the fact that Britney has been low-key obsessed for months and is posting this publicly, is problematic. Instagram is not your group of girlfriends that you invited over to have coffee, this is millions of people and in the public realm, whether fake or not, Selena has been sweet towards Britney. If she is a ****head, which is possible, you either give context or you don't discuss it publicly on social media. Again, this is not the kitchen of her house whete she is talking of how much she hates this or that, this is a public plataform. Presented in this manner,  it is borderline harassment towards Selena and I bet if this went the other way, if some celeb out there was handling anything Britney related this way Britney handles Selena, that person would be canceled by the fan base. And you know what? It would be understandable, because somethings should not be out there. Also, she chose to reference one of Gomez's most vulnerable public speeches, talking about mental health. Even if it was fake af, it was the wrong speech to target.

It is also hypocritical to bring down another woman when you are saying it is wrong to bring down other women? Like, pls, someone make it make sense.
