Ok I get so confused when people use pronouns like this. Like I genuinely don't understand. What does it mean when people put like she/them? Like, why not just be one or the other.

I've kind of always thought the plural for "they/them" was confusing only for the reason of it being a plural referring to a singular. I had a co-worker who was non-binary way before it was in the cultural dialect who said we could refer to them as 'X.' Which, at the time seemed a little hard to remember, but then it made sense as it wasn't a singular or plural, and they liked that it referenced their gender as an 'unknown variable.' Now it seems much more sensible than using plurals, but, who knows... lol
