The Weeknd's new album 'Dawn FM' debuts at #2

Some of the production sounds more like blackout rather than in the zone. I think he got confused on what albums dawn fm got inspired by.

The yeah yeah yeah intro in one of the songs (I don't remember which) remind me of oops intro. I'm liking the album as a whole. Think it's a grower. I already love gasoline tho.

I don’t feel it being ITZ inspired. He and Selena Gomez did the same thing. Said their song/album is Britney inspired and it isn’t

I’ve been trying hard to get into this album, and I just can’t. It’s objectively good, it’s just not the style I like. It sucks not to like an album from one of your favorite artists, but it is what it is.

How Do I Make You Love Me, Take My Breath, Sacrifice, and maaaaybeee Is There Someone Else are the only ones I’ll go back to. 

I love the concept of the radio station and how well executed it is, but I find all the interludes very annoying, just like how radio ads and hosts can be annoying. I like to be transported into the music for an hour when I listen to albums, and having someone talk during it just interrupts everything for me.

Absolutely as I predicted, terrific opening without any physical releases! Love it, it'll be stable I think.

The album didn’t deserve a top 5 debut. It sucks in my opinion. I cannot get into him. 

also, I feel like there’s a super bowl curse now. Everyone that has performed in the last few years, has flopped with the album that comes after the super bowl (Justin, Maroon 5, Katy, etc)

Really surprised by this. A lot of people were talking about this album, and I’ve never even heard of Gunna, though I have heard a song of his this week on a playlist as I only recognized the cover art that’s on his twitter.

Wow. This is bad for him. I love his music and he's like the biggest artist out there. For him to come at 2, even without physical sales, is a big letdown. Must be hard for the ego. Hopefully it'll hit number one in the next weeks ... But still disappointing.  He released like 10 videos the last week and Spotify loves him.
