Continuing with my “Reimagined” series, I am reimagining Glory and the era that could have been. I tried my best

Britney Jean: Reimagined ->

Back in 2014, she re-recorded either Toxic or Breathe on Me for the 50 shades movie, with its own MV

It becomes a top 10 hit

 

Maybe another Documentary, too, for the album.

• Released on Valentine’s Day with a lyric video. 
• A buzz single, performed the day of the POM reboot. It would be sent out to radio. 
• #93 debut. 1 week

“Love Me Down”

• Released on May 20 as the lead single. 
• The video would be something fun, flirty, and classic Britney. Performed at the BBMAS 
• #1 debut. #9 weeks

“Change Your Mind (No Seas Cortes)”

• Released June 24 as the second single.
• Lots of radio play. Performed on talk shows.
• #6 debut. #6 weeks

“Liar”

• Released July 31 as the third single
• #10 debut. #6 weeks 

Album drops August 12 

• Debuts at #1 

“Make Me...”

• Released on August 22 as the fourth single. 
• Original video is released same day. 
• #17 debut. #7 weeks

“Slumber Party ft. Rihanna”

• Released November 16 as the final single. Performed at the AMAs. 
• #21 debut. 4 weeks

Liar is such an iconic song, it should of been released as a single. What i would of loved to happen is to have two versions of it

Liar Part 1 - A Duet with a male contemporary where there both singing about both of them lieing to each other, and what they are feeling. Then released about 1-2 Months later:

Liar Part 2 - A more ballad stylistic version of the Liar we currently have, that is pure Britney in the vain of Everytime, Shadow, Where are you now? etc.

Both have videos, with the first part being the big budget one, and the Part 2 being a subdued pure Britney affair!

I can dream, but god it would of just been great to have Liar as a single as is!

Glory had so much potential, with the right packaging/promotion I feel it would have been great. I think a new tracklist would have done worlds of good instead of hiding so many gems as bonus tracks. My ideal tracklist:

I actually think if Slumber Party was the first single (with the same video) it would have done way better than it did. Other single options: Change Your Mind, Mood Ring, Liar, Better, even Love Me Down. I would have thrown in If I’m Dancing at the end of a string of singles with a quirky Instagram-y video because the critics loved that song and it would have gotten it more attention.

Slumber Party performances also could’ve been awesome with minimal dancing, a held mic, and live vocals. I think she would have slayed it.

Apologies in advance to all the Just Luv Me fans - her voice sounds lovely, but the song has never really done it for me. Feels like it was hopping on a tired trend. Makes for a nice bonus track, though!

I also think that Glory had a lot more potential. The song material is amazing. It was just bad timing - bad promotion - wrong tracklist. I feel like they did everything to make it flop...For me personal the bonus tracks are some of the best songs!

Everything about that song is just so...dated I guess? Also the vocal production is just so messy. Digging through the stems the other day I realized her vocals is what I hate the most about the song. At least what they did to them in production. They’re way more robotic than you realize and it just sounds so messy. Also her tone throughout the song for me is just so unpleasant. Private Show is more manageable to me for some reason lol
