There was a time us fans went into a frenzy when Billboard discredited S N M as a #1 for Britney. It looks as though Billboard is now once again including the Rihanna track as a #1 for Spears.

Britney deserved so many more number ones. But thanks to the ban, her best songs didn’t chart high. :tiffanycries:

I know but in the end at least many of her latest songs post 10 years in the game charted very well. Unlike Christina she had her hits early on as a solo artist.

I dont remember Xtina being an it girl. :umsaywhat: Oh how the mighty has fallen. :anxiety:

Oops should have been a #1 but it wasnt released as a single. Slave felt like a #1 too.

As difficult as it is to get a #1 now, I think it's much more accurate now. Number 1s used to be seem so attainable. Barely anyone even remembers 3 or the S&M remix, yet they reached #1. HIAM isn't remembered much either, but it sold so much I think it was deserved.

3 deserves its #1 and I will literally fight anyone who thinks otherwise. :bang:

Toxic shouldve been a #1 too and if Come On Over could go #1, why didnt Crazy? Probably cuz Jive hardly released physical singles of Britneys in thr U.S. where as Xtinas label did release physical copies in America (cuz i bought them all)

Jive was smart for that because her album sales left Xtina in the dust. And let’s be real album sales >>> single sales, unless you’re a Rihanna stan. :bang:

how did till the world ends not get number 1 if it was more popular than hold it against me? :ineedthetruth: i remember even my straight guy friends bopping to that song in middle school, more than 3 or HIAM

EDIT - How did pretty girls chart higher than Me Against The Music :orangu:

Cause Madonna was a fad and still is.

I would say it is easier now with streaming. S&M will be remembered much more than Cardigan B's Kodak Yelling. :tbh:

I don't think it is at all. The only tracks going number one now are the ones played on radio 24/7. Where as before it was mostly sales.

So little artists never have a chance at bigger exposure.
