Of course the charts aren't everything but they are still a major part. That's why there is so much payola with artists and cutting corners with streaming to make sure songs/albums become #1. And to me, it's obvious that she is chasing a hit with all these singles she keeps releasing and she hasn't been able to follow-up the overall success of 2 On. And judging by how fast the public moved on and hasn't cared about her releases lately, I don't know how long she'll be around. The music industry is fickle and you need hits to stay relevant. Look how fast so many artists burned and crashed after their first albums. Wasn't her joyride also delayed? That's not a good sign. And yeah she may have good songs but again, there are a million artists who have good songs and still no one cares and their careers go nowhere. Like she has good songs and dances great. I can also name a handful of other artists who do the same. I honestly feel she should figure out her direction before she becomes just another pretty face with one huge song.
