  1. A federal tribunal has rejected Carey's efforts to claim ownership over the holiday nickname, after another "Queen of Christmas" cried foul. “What happened? In August, Elizabeth Chan, whom the The New Yorker dubbed the “Queen of Christmas” in a 2018 profile, filed an opposition to block Carey from getting the registration. Chan gave some interviews at the time, telling the Daily News, "Christmas is a season of giving, not taking. It’s wrong for an individual to attempt to own & monopolize a nickname like Queen of Christmas for the purposes of abject materialism." Mariah Carey Will Continue to Be “Queen of Christmas” in Our Hearts, Just Not in the Trademark Office | Vanity Fair WWW.VANITYFAIR.COM “I will tell you this: I love Christmas, and it’s my favorite time of year. But I’m just the queen of my own self.”
  2. How long have you guys been a lamb/stan of Ms. Mariah daahling.....? i've known of her since 2005 when i was 11 but i didnt become a lamb until years later prob 2014/2015. 3. Achievements and Records are to be made and broken,,yes that's true. But until this Monday, there was no hot 100 of longest Solo number one single. Is as it was solo Yes. But why is it being questioned. It never existed, and it's SHADY as hell for Mariah Carey,,a pure sales act,, who's 2005 decade end hot 100 number one hit (only act to have the defining hit of two different decades the 90s and the 00s with one sweet day and We belong together respectively). Unfortunately this record never existed until this week,,so it's like shady as hell to give it to someone when Mimi herself never got that credit 17 years ago or longest running duet 26 years ago. So its definitely Like okay,,who bought or decided today we create longest Solo number one single, it's like saying let's destroy anything that pure sales acts Established or that at one point people bought records or saved money to go to the store to buy music.. Nothing personal but that's like erasing how I became a music fan to please a certain generation,,you matter but so do I. so billboard has some explaining to do,,cos until Harry styles,,there was nothing of solo or this nonsense. But, congrats Harry styles the first artist ever to achieve the new industry made up claim the longest number one as a Solo artist . @Blackout2006 @Style. Believe me everywhere I see in my socials, I've yet to here this song, who's streaming this, who did a TikTok challenge. Of course the weakest Track is the most radio friendly Track on the album.
  4. Released October 3rd, 1995, Daydream is Carey's second-best selling album, with 25,000,000 units sold worldwide. Carey herself describes the album as the beginning of her a real transformation in her music, no longer incorporating quite as many gospel and soul influences as she had done on previous projects. Six singles were released from the album. Its lead single "Fantasy" became the first single by a female artist to debut at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 and went on to top the chart for eight weeks, and became the second best-selling single of 1995 in the country. The second single "One Sweet Day" topped the Billboard Hot 100 for sixteen weeks and became the longest-running number-one single in Billboard's history, holding the record for 23 years. The album's next single "Always Be My Baby" reached number one as well. Jointly, the singles from Daydream spent a combined six months at the top of the Hot 100. I’m a newbie Mariah listener and after some digging, I’ve found out ‘Daydream’ is Mariah Carey’s best album. I’m feeling like a better person after listening to ‘Daydream’. Oh my gosh, this album is so good! I would rate it 8 out of 10, my favorite songs being: Fantasy, Underneath The Stars, One Sweet Day, Open Arms, Always Be My Baby, Melt Away, Looking In it’s absolutely sublime, El Amor Que Sone What do you think of the album? What rating would you give it out of 10?
  5. The single jumped from 11 to 3 which means it's two spots away from reaching number 1! This will be Lattos first number 1 Hot100 hit and Mariahs 20th number 1 Hot100 hit IF it reaches number 1. If it does go number 1 then Mariah ties with The Beatles for most number 1s on the Hot100 in the United States! Do you guys think the song will make it to number 1? To be honest I never thought Mariah would ever be featured on the Hot100 again unless it was her yearly charted Christmas song. In a way, it's kinda cheating when you're featured on a remix last minute taking equal streaming credit when the original song with the original solo aritst did most of the impact. If the remix was originally released as a regular single then I don't think the song would have charted high. The original single 'Big Energy' is what is kept the song alive and thriving, the remix just added a few thousand streams. Nicki Minaj did this same thing with Dojs cats song 'Say So' when the song was in the top 5, she cheated and just hopped on for number 1 credit. Nicki also tried it with Ella Mai when her single was top 5 but the song never made it to number 1 and her attempt for number 1 streaming credit failed. But anyways, I love Mariah to death but I'm a realist, Mariahs vocals on her first verse were not that great and I wish she changed her verse because it shows the audience that her voice has declined through the years due to her over performing (which is totally fine). But who am I to complain, she's keeping us lambs fed and I love her for that! Not many of our favs are feeding us. Mariah has nothing to prove! She's a living legend and deity! I'm just being a messy b.itchy ungrateful lamb that's pulling a Wendy Williams attempt for Breatheheavy's Hot topics. 🤪🤪🤪 🤔 .............Breatheheavy Hot topics, I should totally start that here.
  6. Remix from the queen. Mariah x Latto. Im here for it! What do y’all think?
  7. Twist off, Chubby Checker: Your double run just got lapped. The yuletide is high for Mariah Carey’s 1994 holiday staple “All I Want for Christmas,” which moves into the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 today — becoming the first song to top that tally in three separate chart runs. The hitmaking singer’s track breaks its tie with Checker’s smash “The Twist,” which hit No. 1 in 1960 and returned to the summit two years later. “All I Want for Christmas” first climbed to No. 1 in 2019, made it back there last year and moves up from No. 2 this week to complete the feat. All told, it has amassed six weeks at No. 1. The track also nudged Checker from another Hot 100 record as it now boasts the longest spans between chart-topping runs. “The Twist” did it in one year and three months-plus. Carey also extends her personal chart record of most total weeks at No. 1 for any artist in the Hot 100’s 63-year history: 85, spanning 19 songs. One more chart-topper, and she would match the Beatles for most No. 1s. The singles chart for the week dated December 25, 2021, also includes five other holiday hits: Brenda Lee’s 1958 classic “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” in No. 2, Bobby Helms’ “Jingle Bell Rock” from 1957 ranks fourth, Andy Williams’ 1963 chestnut “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” is No. 7, and Wham!’s “Last Christmas” from 1984 returns to the Top 10 at No. 9.
  8. Britney last #1 hit was a decade ago and last year Mariah Carey entered a distinctive club of the only singer to have #1 songs in four different decades. Britney despite not being a chart topper is part of select group of singers that includes Madonna, Michael Jackson, Elton John, Janet Jackson, Usher, Stevie Wonder and (ironically???) Christina Aguilera to have #1 hit in 3 different decades. if Britney ever return to record again and if that happens in this decade, would you guys think Britney will have a new #1 since she became the most talked woman of 2021?
  9. Christmas is kind of A big money maker for one pop diva Mariah Carey. Now it's getting bigger as the queen of Christmas herself, announces an official Mariah Christmas shop is coming to a wal mart and a target near you.. Ornaments, fashion and Music is coming your way.
  10. Mariah has recently upscaled her videos to 1080p. She now has only upscaled Fantasy to 4K. I know it's not easy but hopefully she upscales her entire video catalog to 4K.
  11. Mariah Carey was committed against her will Carey soon realized that her family was trying to take advantage of her in a vulnerable state. “If they could prove I was unstable, they certainly could have believed they would become the executors of my affairs,” she said of their thought process. "I was so wrapped up in the childhood history, the betrayal, the love I had once had for everyone involved that I was blind to motive,” she recalled. “It was no coincidence that my mother and brother were working on the side of the record company instead of protecting me and advocating for my well-being, and that they just happened to claim I was unstable to try to institutionalize me immediately after I had signed the biggest cash record deal for a solo artist in history.” “People push artists to the edge, and then they wonder why most people are gone too soon,” she said honestly. “And then we have this culture of the paparazzi being like vultures… but it’s just indicative of my family — sorry — but it’s indicative of the nature of the beast. Like, ‘Oh, here’s a scam. Here’s a scheme. Let’s make this happen in order to make unlimited money and resources for ourselves rather than have her make this huge deal and be in control of it. Why not just take it over?'”
  12. Have you guys ever heard rumors that JLO's singing voice is not real/largely sung by other artists? Apparently this is widely rumored, but I'm just now hearing about it. We all know JLO as fellow Vegas queen/amazing dancer but what about her voice? In my opinion, many of her vocals do sound oddly dissimilar, especially earlier in her career. And HEAVILY sampled from other artists, and lots of lip-syncing throughout her career (see: her joke of a Barbara Streisand cover during One World Together) What are our thoughts? What's the deal with JLO's voice? Related:
