  1. As we all know, the Jessica Legendson of the 2020s, Billie Eilish, is getting ready to dominate, YET AGAIN, with her second album but the real question is, which pop tycoon has the better discography? Discuss and make sure to vote in the poll above.
  2. So recently i got back into listening to 'The Voice' of my generation(the nice one), Jessica Simpson. Was watching some Newly Wed clips on youtube, and saw a guy and said to myself, "Damn, Larry R has a doppleganger( u can clearly see him in the episode where Nick is moving his stuff out of his condo) and then the camera stayed longer than a m*** head editting multiple camera angles together and I fully saw him. Deep dive later( i just got done reading Jessicas book fyi that gave some deeper dets about their divorce) Larry was also managing Nick, produced Newly Weds and was Nicks all big and mighty lawyer Jess mentions in her book that fought for him to walk away with 10 Million. Theres many articles out there where Larry spills Tea without realizing it. He use to be BBrit lawyer and manager same time. Something tells me hell beable to get Jamie more money b4 this thing is over. And something tells me Larry hired Lou to b the scapegoat for this staged BS. Larry jumped ship first b4 anyone else mind u. He knew the system, he whispered sweet nothings of endless coin into Loucifers ear, and worked her puppet strings allowing her to think she was Big Alpha...all the while, its been another ugly lizard man running 2 women instead of just the 1 weve thought this whole time. Personally think Lou was callibg Larry out with the 'steal 1k a day' post. Mind u, i love connecting dots that take 10 years to surface as facts.
  3. I think most of us have heard the 1984 classic You Spin Me Round (Like a Record) originally performed by Dead or Alive. Co-written by late Pete Burns, Steve Coy, Wayne Hussey, Tim Lever and Mike Percy, and produced by Stock Aitken Waterman, it peaked at #11 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was Top 10 in several countries, including three #1's. Mexican singer Thalia covered the song for her seventh studio album Thalía, released in 2002 and it was produced by Steve Morales, Hex Hector and Mac Quayle. Four years later, in 2006 Jessica Simpson also made a rendition of the song for her fifth album A Public Affair, produced by Cory Rooney, with writing by Timothy Lever. Which cover/sample do you think it's the best one?
  4. "An inspiring and revealing essay about motherhood, self-acceptance, and overcoming the fears that hold you back by the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Open Book." It's now available for pre-order and will be released on April 29. I know exhale has some Jessica stans,. Will you guys be checking this out?
  5. Hello everyone! Today we are here to CELEBRATE the 20th ANNIVERSARY of one of the most underrated pop songs of all time, IRRESISTIBLE by none other than MS. Jessica Simpson herself. 20 years ago TODAY, the QUEEN released the title track, POP anthem and 2000s staple 'Irresistible' and the game forever changed. During this era, Simpson decided to take a departure from her next-door-girl image and release more sultry, adult-driven music. In preparation of releasing her second studio album with the same name and nearing the cusp of turing 21, Simpson described the material as "Mariah Carey meets Britney Spears", indicating the soulfulness of the songs as well as their contemporary appeal. Lyrical themes addressed in the album include love and heartbreak, ***uality, and self-respect where she also dived into more hip-hop and R&B influences. 'Irresistible' received RAVE reviews and reached the Top 20 in over TWELVE countries becoming a worldwide HIT. The accompanying music video has a James Bond theme and features scenes of Simpson dressed as a spy. A music video for the So-So Def Remix was also filmed, featuring appearances by Jermaine Dupri and Lil' Bow Wow. The song was also featured on the Disney Channel Original Series Lizzie McGuire in 2001 and would go on to win a Broadcast Music Incorporated (BMI) Pop Music Award, in addition to being ranked as one of the Top 100 Pop Songs of 2001. Simpson would also headline her first tour by the name of DreamChaser Tour where she performed the song as a part of the set-list, becoming one of pop's IT-girls and solidifying her status as a TRIPLE-THREAT. In 2002, Simpson released the DVD titled Dream Chaser which included exclusives, interviews, live performances, behind-the-scenes footage and more. The DVD included a short snippet of a behind-the-scenes look at the Making of the Video for the futuristic 'Irresistible.' And finally, here are some of my personal favorite performances of the song, hope you all enjoy. Don't forget to celebrate, my fellow resident Successica/Irresistible stans @Rick101 @CrazyButItFeelsAllright @Lonely2001 @Style. @Thelegendarybritney (sorry if I forget to tag you btw)
  6. @SUCCESSICA IS A QUEEN ive always wondered why did Jessica make it while Willa had limited success? WHY Willa was already way more into “urban pop” before Britney or Christina. They copied her obvi slave 4 u and dirrrty are clearly so inspired I’m shocked Willa wasn’t included in Cassie’s Britney’s insta post and tribute to all the women that have inspired her. but anyway.... somethint about Jessica was so ... irresistible did Jessica have that much more of an IT FACTOR? Why did Jessica last longer? Discuss. Related:
  7. THE QUEEN HAS SPOKEN. POP PRINCESS Jessica Simpson speaks to PEOPLE on how she had a similar "coming of age" story and why she admires Britney Spers. She tells PEOPLE that she chose "not to watch the documentary [Framing Britney Spears]" and explains that "I didn't want to watch and bring back any of the dark pieces of my personal coming of age in the music business. I have worked through a lot and want to keep moving forward in my own story on my own path." She adds that she "admires her [Britney's] ambition, strength and the capability to live unapologetically and authentically," and is "happy that people are supporting Britney." The pop princess also opens up about the scrutiny she endured surrounding her weight through some journal entries and states that "there is a wonderful movement for body positivity now and the response to that portion of my story has been overwhelmingly supportive...I don't think people always realized that there was a human being, a beating heart and working eyes with actual feelings behind those headlines and that words can hurt and stay with you for a lifetime...I spent so many years beating myself up for an unrealistic body standard that made me feel like a failure all of the time." She also adds "I am still a work in progress when it comes to self-criticism but now I have the tools to quiet those voices in my head when they speak up." LEGEND BEHAVIOR if you ask me. 13. So, we know there is the sort of iconic quartet of blondes that became famous at the end of the 90s/beginning of the 00s. as the nostalgia wave hits, there is renewed interest in all four of them, and for the first time, they've all been active musically (except Britney but obvi reasons + she has a huge catalogue as is and is still in the media) in the past ~1-2 years and we have heard about them in the news. they were given a rough go back in the day, but some retrospective appreciation is being thrown their way as of late. so my question is, as images became more important than ever, who had the best aesthetic? BRITNEY - the archetype of the group and style of teen pop. definitely the most sort of laid back, casual American style. very natural at first, but even when she was done up more often she retained a natural look for the most part. her music was the litmus test for the style and changed from an originally more adult sound to a much more teen friendly, danceable album by the time it was released (her debut, it is). eventually we saw her perfect teen pop, move into ******, moody dance-pop, graduate into the ambient dance sounds of ITZ, eventually giving way to electropop and etc continuing to evolve, with a pretty huge output in music. CHRISTINA - the "voice" of the group. had a much more done up style than britney, always sporting makeup and donning pink dip dye hair by 2000. she flipped her image much faster and more drastically than the others, sailing from being considered britney's more diva-esque, soulful understudy to a full fledged *****-pop, dance-rnb queen with stripped, eventually moving on to a very unique swing-pop sound before adopting electropop down the line as well, but retaining her aggressive, rnb-laden sound. she often had a sort of teen girl hip hop-lite style, with the bandanas and all. her music was definitely more rnb tinged than britney's, and is personally my favorite debut of the four. though less successful than britney, she was a major force commercially and easily one of the top female performers of the decade despite a pretty scant output JESSICA - the supposed "alternative" that was supposed to be more wholesome. she was oft marketed as an all american queen of abstinence. she was always more ballad heavy than her counterparts, reflecting her influences being less madonna and janet and more celine dion and mariah carey. she could certainly belt, even though her technique was not the best and got worse over time. her debut was less successful; contrasting the equivalent sales of britney and christina (something like 30+ and 17+ million copies respectively), sweet kisses pulled realistically less than 6 million equivalent sales, most likely. however, she was still popular--a double platinum debut before you're 20 is still pretty great, and she was incredibly famous for a decade or more MANDY - definitely the sort of fourth musketeer, she was substantially less successful and is probably known more for being an actress now--but she stayed in the spotlight, showing she had starpower just like the other four. she was considerably younger than the rest, so her style was very cutesy, very teen girl, and less sexualized than even jessica who was marketed as chaste and pure. her music was probably the most heavily produced, but interesting moved in an odd, folksy direction as her fame as a musician quickly fell off. BONUS!
  14. I love 2020 Jessica "I think everybody's careers have their own unique stories, and I love that Britney owns herself, Christina owns herself, and they don't let the world control them," she said. "They just are themselves, and that's who I am as well." "We grew up in a very competitive environment when it came to our record labels and being pushed to do things that were unnecessary for success." "Everybody has found their own way, in such a beautiful, inspiring way," she added. "I just love it that everybody has remained authentically who they are. There's so much room at the top! I mean, think about how many people are in heaven! Come on." "There's a lot of room at the top and I am happy to share any top slot with anybody. But the fact that I'm even considered at the top is a very funny thing, because I'm a dreamer, so I have more things to do."
