I thought it's been done...by now she should have a solid three albums. I'm glad she's being a perfectionist bc she stays relevant. Rather have ten great albums than 13-14(we know who this is) mediocre mainstream hungry ones.

On a serious note though homegirl really should be more respectful to her fans hasn't she strung them along for years saying it's coming and it's like groundhog day every day with 6 or 7 new fenty costumes?

The crazy thing about Rihanna and her music is that she got her fans and the GP used to new music every year (with many fillers in between), and now when she finally releases a new album after all these years she'll have to deliver on every.single.track. Something that she nor her fans are used to.

PS: A single like "Work" was OK when it was released, it worked (no pun intended), but now I don't think she could release something like that, it would feel underwhelming... I wouldn't know how to tackle this situation other than to put on a shiny costume and release a ridiculously shameless banger strictly for the gays. Get the harsher audience on your side, feed them by spoon, and then release whatever you want and brace yourself.

The music writing business has changed a lot and these days the writers themselves want to perform their songs.

It's hard to land on hits if you are not a talented writer yourself and Ri is not.

Well, her last singles and albums did nothing for me but the numbers speak a different language. You can come back with whatever you want to call music as long as you have a follwership, even if it is from two decades ago

I think a single like Work would be perfect. Rihanna’s songs and albums are usually ear worms and have longevity.

or she would have to come hard and uptempo with something similar in impact to We Found Love.

but considering she’s a Mom now she might have to go in a new direction.
