If JL truly wanted to separate herself from her sister, she’d get a job outside of showbiz. She’d be MUCH LESS angry and jealous of her older sister if she’d get a regular person job she can do. 

She should use her ENORMOUS privilege and use a portion of Britney’s money to go to school or get a job certification. But no. JL has been trying to “make it” in showbiz for YEARS. It still hasn’t happened. At this point it’s not going to happen.

She's like collateral damage, in a way. Maybe she already wanted to emulate Britney, but Lou Taylor stroked that for her own reasons. She got just enough success early on, probably at exactly the wrong age, to think she deserved it. It looks like she's increasingly desperate to find a niche in entertainment, and it's getting late in the day for her to strike out in another direction. If she'd had people around her who actually cared about her future, it could have been different. Britney couldn't do it, even without everything that was going on, because she was the unicorn that JL wants to be. Like Britney, she was surrounded by people who exploited her for their own reasons.
