Britney apparently left RCA for Universal Music Group (UMG)

Recommended Posts

I hope it’s true. RCA is a **** label. Look at every artist they have on their roster. Christina, Justin, Kesha, Miley (formally), etc. Every time they put a single or an album out, it flops and it flops HARD. That label has no idea how to promote their clients. I mean an album shouldn’t be two singles and then done. That to me is just bad business and ****ty management. Jive did better at promoting their client’s work before they got absorbed into RCA. You can tell from how Femme Fatale was handled to how Britney Jean and Glory were handled. Night and day difference.

Not to mention RCA using Britney’s reputation to promote Z-Listers on their roster. Britney is in a way higher caliber, she shouldn’t have that kind of treatment.

Ya’ll, UMG owns a percentage of her masters. That is it. Chris Brown is with RCA yet he is also on UMG’s website. UMG even announced they owned part of her masters during her conservatorship trials. It was posted on exhale like a year or so ago. Just search for it lol this isn’t new news.
the announcement is probably a new vinyl or some kind of merch.

Don't bother explaining, they'll believe want they want to believe :imok_goo_ooze_yellow_slime_mess_blonde:

It'll be funny to see the meltdowns when they realize Britney's next album is still under RCA :tiffcackle_Tiffany_miss_ny_New_York_pollard_laugh_giggle_lol_haha_hehe::ricackle_rihanna_laugh_lol_haha_lmao_hehe:

Maybe that’s to fulfill a contract. It saves her from having to make a new album for them.

Crossroads soundtrack album only has 3 Britney songs (+ 3 remixes of the same songs) and 11 tracks from other artists.

Do you really think record labels release soundtrack albums with other artists' material to fulfill a contract?

If Britney wanted to end her contract with RCA she could have done it when the c-ship was over. Clearly she did not end her contract, so what no one is saying Britney is probably happy with RCA. They haven't pushed her to release anything in years since her last studio album was in 2016. Moving to a new record label would mean she will have to release a new album. Imagine paying millions for an artist that won't release anything new LOL - No record label in the world would agree on that  :oprah_well_there_you_have_it_proof_see_hand:

But an album is still an album regardless of whether they are remixes or not.

Britney probably wasn’t concerned about her contract with RCA when the c-ship first ended because she had so much going on. Her relationship with Sam, marriage, miscarriage, her relationship with her sons. Coming off the Lithium etc. RCA was probably the last thing on her mind.

Now 2 years later she’s probably able to focus a bit on her career. Your Right it doesn’t seem RCA have been forcing any material out of her. Maybe she just wants a fresh start with a label that’s not associated with her trauma.

You're still missing the point. This is NOT an album of Britney remixes. It's a compilation album with different artists' material containing only 3 Britney songs

And I honestly think music is the least of her concerns so I truly don't see her changing labels in the next few years :oprah_well_there_you_have_it_proof_see_hand:
