Britney apparently left RCA for Universal Music Group (UMG)

Not getting my hopes up as her publishing has always been Universal but I hope she has switched record labels

I thought she still had a contract with RCA. So I wonder what happened? Universal labels are much much better anyway.

Lol UMG owns what used to be Virgin music. Britney released records under Jive and Virgin music worldwide. It's been this way for years. She's still under RCA

Exactly! UMG owns the debunked Virgin music. Britney released records under Jive and Virgin, so that's why they handle some stuff since they own part of her catalogue. Britney is still under RCA as label

At the bottom of the email says "Epic rights", not "Epic records". She signed with epic rights in 2018 to handle her merch, that's their job.

We could be in the middle of a transition though, I mean it is odd that in the newsletter sign up, Universal Music Group is listed as one of the three representatives for Britney to send updates on anything career related but not RCA

There's no transition. As I explained above UMG is the publishing company who owns what used to be Virgin music. It's been that way for years, I can't believe no one subscribed to her newsletter before LOL

 

She's still under RCA as label. The day Britney leaves RCA it will be published everywhere, that news is important for the new label
