Britney turned down any on-camera interviews, including with Oprah, to discuss 'The Woman In Me'

Britney reportedly turned down any on-camera interviews to promote her forthcoming book, 'The Woman In Me.'

According to Mirror.co.uk, Britney is "just not up to that kind of interaction with a professional interviewer or journalist" an LA business associate tells the site. "Britney is just not in the right space to sit down for a full scale interview to address many areas of her memoir. Firstly she doesn't like to be face to face with a TV camera anymore dealing with questions. On top of that the questions will be about the revelations in her book."

The source continues: "In theory she signed off on the content being released next month. Doing the book with her ghost writer was terrifically tough and left her feeling traumatized and needing therapy. Just how much she is able to go into aspects of those darker moments on camera could be problematic. There is a real concern that she is not able to deal with more trauma on camera with a stranger. The last thing anyone needs is Britney having a meltdown and suffering from this kind of interview."

They add she even turned down a special with Oprah.

Last year, Britney confirmed that. "I have offers to interview with Oprah and so many people, lots and lots of money, but it’s insane," she said. "I don’t want any of it. For me, it’s beyond a sit-down, proper interview."

Britney added: "[I'm] in a place now where I’m a little bit more confident that I can be willing to share openly my thoughts and what I’ve been through."

I mean if it’s in the book then why should she have to address it out loud? I think we should be fine w britney doing just lighthearted radio/tv show interviews about music or whatever if she wants, or to just continue going a more creative and less candid rout

This makes those Vegas rumors seem exactly what they are, rumors. There’s no was she’s getting on a stage in front of thousands of people. She can’t even do an interview with one person..

To a degree I see what u mean, but the article seems to largely emphasize that it’s because she doesn’t want to answer such personal questions to a camera and journalist. Where as to a degree, art can be a bit less personal for her

Feel free to eat me, but she "refuses" an interview because she is afraid of questions about her Instagram and behavior and she doesn't care what others think about it and she wants to save herself these unnecessary questions.

 

She also doesn't want to be "on target" for what she wrote in her book.

 

So I'm of the opinion that Oprah or someone will interview her once, and then she won't say anything, or she will say but it will be in the form of audio or video.

Yeah... HER living room, HER environment, HER lights and camera WITH NO STRANGERS around!!! This is how introvert and traumatized people "work".

It doesn't mean that the info is real tho. But if it really is, I understand and I feel sad for her to be that insecure. I hope she will heal soon.

Also, doing interviews for what? So some "fans" can complain about everything she will say or do? So some "fans" can turn any of her words against her? I won't do anything if I saw my "fans" bashing me all day just for my IG posts either... I hope she will release a last little EP and then retire for good and find peace and hapiness!

I find it near impossible to believe she wrote this book and I’m not sure I want to buy it because the longer this goes on I still think it’s all so weird, I don’t want give money and buy her products when I still think something is up. How many years now and no interview or anything, it’s not about me wanting her to resume her career or whatever, IDGAF about that, but wanting to actually see Britney is ok and making her own decisions/writing her own book etc. So upsetting, I’ve wanted to hear her story/words about everything so badly but I’m not sure we ever will now

As someone who is on stage quite a bit, I find it FAR easier to be in front of thousands of people on stage, than in a room with one person on-camera...

And I feel that she would feel the same.

She hated interviews since forever. She always has predetermined questions and a script when going into interviews. Also Simon Cowell held her up during xfsctor interviews … then will iam helped her through Britney jean. The only interviews she’s done on her own in the last 15 years have been overseas 

 

I think if she did an audio version of the book they could play clips on various entertainment shows

They are just making this up. However I do think there will be no interviews for the book, at least definitely no televised interviews. There may be a couple of magazine interviews that most of us will say Cade submitted the answers for.
