What song is more iconic? Baby One More Time or Toxic

I’d have to say Baby One More Time. I feel like those are the most played on the radio and what the general public knows her by. Am I the only one that isn’t a fan of Toxic?

That three-note open was only surpassed by "It's Britney, *****" in terms of icon status. That's not part of Toxic, so I say Baby One More Time.

Toxic is a masterpiece is terms of production/ seductive vocals and the video as well as costumes. Toxic will never be forgotten and will be known as one of the greatest pop songs ever! That being said baby one more time has a haunting chorus which I love the most about the song, idk what registers the most with people becuase to me gimme more is more known among young people here at least. The evolution from baby to Toxic was surreal to witness in real time man, others still aren't able to do this.

BOMT but every year Toxic gets closer. Even Gimme More is getting a lot of streams and i'm loving it.

Toxic is her most popular song. But I believe BOMT is overall the more iconic one because it entered the zeitgeist with more impact - not only as her debut, but also especially due to the schoolgirl outfit in the music video.
 

With one song, Britney instantly became a household name and heralded THE new sound of pop music to represent the millennium. And while the Toxic strings riff is probably just as identifiable…as somebody already said, those three piano notes opening BOMT are truly shudder-inducing in their specific simplicity. That’s iconic.

I feel like BOMT might be a more respected song, in terms of production and impact of pop culture (as is Toxic to an extent). However, Toxic is probably the more celebrated/played out of the two?

Bomt - Her most iconic song, music video and look
Oops...! - Her most iconic dance (Slave is arguably better but Oops...! is the one that always get referenced in popular culture)
Toxic - Shared place with the most iconic song

 But they all get very close to each other in iconicness

Bomt is more iconic definetly, however I think toxic is the better/more popular song overall

I don’t prefer it over Baby, but as time goes on I think Toxic is quickly becoming her most iconic and signature song. The GP is sooo..

I guess technically BOMT in terms of it being THE song that launched her from small-town roots to unbelievably famous so quickly. 

But personally, I prefer Toxic. Furthermore, it was her first big success with her taking creative control during ITZ and choosing her singles in the first place.

It’s arguably her best song and a part of her magnum opus —  in terms of quality and production value. Like imagine thinking Toxic isn’t good when it’s literally loved and respected by literally everyone. It’s a brilliant modern-day masterpiece, a decade-defining hit and the greatest uptempo pop song of the 21st century. Stay delusional.
