Contrary to popular belief her team knows what they're doing.  Her sales were flopping and this major crisis happened.  They gave her the opportunity to be with her ailing father.  The same thing happened with her aunt at the beginning of her fame and she kept working because that was the smart business move.  She needed a reason to cancel Domination and make the correct career move.  Again.  The next thing she could do is wait until 2020 to release anything and do something intellectually stimulating and different.  Something award (grammy) worthy and adult.
