Songs you favor lyrics over production and vice versa?

What songs do you find yourself listening to because the lyrics are good, but the instrumental leaves alot to be desired?

And vice versa?

One for me is Just Luv Me. The lyrics could be better but the production on it is amazing!!

I love Abroad lyrics but the production is a total mess. On the other side, I love NTIFY instrumental but the lyrics are too repetitive. I hate they used the same verses both time.

This. That would be a great song if the second verse wasn't just an exact repeat of the first

Til It's Gone is such a beautiful song.Lyrically one of best songs ever but the production could have been so much better,just like a lot of songs on Britney Jean

The lyrics for "Cinderella" and "Scary" can both get pretty cringe-y at many parts, but their production is so good. 

 

"Out From Under" could definitely have better production - the lyrics and her delivery are pretty emotional, but the productions falls flat & feels pretty one-note.

I think I would have liked BJ if there was less production as a whole and only her voice with little vocal manipulation. Britney can deliver good quality songs and lyrics but a lot of the time the production ruins it like it did with this album.

Me too! Whenever I wanna show friends that song they're like wtf is that noise so I usually just skip the song

i listen to Big Fat Bass for the production bc it gets me to dance 

i listen to man on the moon for the lyrics, ngl i feel like the production could've been a bit better if it was more synth heavy to fit the outer space theme

Totally agree about Liar honestly! I also wish they would have left her vocals alone in MOTM too! 

 

Heaven On Earth comes to mind the lyrics are great, but they over-produced the final version of the song and some of the vocals/beautiful lyrics get lost....like the cute things she says at the end of the song can barely be heard.

How lazy can one get. Not only was Britney not singing her own songs, she also “sang” the same verse twice.
