Today Billboard released a Ranking: „The 100 Greatest Songs of 2004“ and placed „Toxic“ at #1! 1. Britney Spears, "Toxic" The addictive love that Britney Spears describes in “Toxic” could easily translate to the habit-forming song itself. “There’s no escape, I can’t wait/ I need a hit, baby, give me it”: To hear “Toxic” once is to need to hear it again — immediately. Is it the high-pitched strings from Bloodshy & Avant? Or the venomous lyrics from the Swedish production duo alongside Cathy Dennis and Henrik Jonback? Or maybe the cheeky superspy-spoofing music video? (It’s impossible to hear this song without immediately picturing Spears in a futuristic blue flight-attendant uniform.) Whatever it is, the In the Zone earworm infected everyone within its reach, as it topped Billboard’s Pop Airplay and Dance Club Songs charts (as well as our staff’s own Best Britney Spears Songs list). It earned Spears her first, and so far only, Grammy (for best dance recording). And even Jay-Z chose it as his favorite Britney song in a random 2013 Twitter Q&A (“jamming my G”). The song’s most enduring legacy, though, might be its whiplash-inducing range of covers, from Local H’s rocker, to The Chapin Sisters’ folk version, to Mark Ronson’s ODB-featuring hip-hop spin, to, naturally, a cappella takes from both the Pitch Perfect franchise and Glee (twice). What all the above endorsements add up to is that “Toxic” has seemingly become Spears’ most universally beloved song, using her already-established superpowers (the unmistakable breathy vocals, her magnetic onscreen presence and flawless choreography) and adding an electronic pop sound that put a legend who could have been forever linked to the ’90s instead at the forefront of top 40’s new frontier. The results were anything but toxic, but they were still definitely lethal. – K.A.

Time has come for another Britney milestone. This time, it's Britney- the album. As it has been gaining around 250-300k streams per day, it's getting closer to 500 million streams on Spotify. This milestone will give Britney 7/9 albums with at least over 500 million streams (Britney Jean and Glory are the only albums excluded) I'm A Slave 4 U remains the most streamed track. As of April 2024, Overprotected (the album version) is yet to hit 100 million mark. The least streamed song is the bonus track- Before The Goodbye. A mini-milestone that should be accomplished this month will be Cinderella hitting 10 million streams. That milestone will give this album 7/15 songs over at least 10 million streams. When the album hit 500 million streams, it will be added to very unreliable but still widely used- Chartmasters-basic tool bar. STREAM THE ALBUM: Will be added to:

I went to a party where the DJ was playing The Hook Up and I'm Slave 4 U. The Hook Up was JUST PLAYING when I entered the room, so I was just warming up. And for Slave I couldn't do the complete/full movements of the song because it was really small room and lots of people, however I gave my blood for this lol, that was my moment. It was the peak of the party, for me. Tbh, it was one of the only good moments of the whole night. Have you gone to a party and danced your S off to a Britney's song now in this post end of conservatorship era - or whatever we can call this era for Britney fans, lol? Tell me your moments, darling.

While swifties are praising the Aaron Dessner Anthology side. It should be noted Jack Antonoff is getting dragged and destroyed by swifties. They just wanted to dance, a carefree album for summer time. However. JACK GAVE them the Lana del rey sound again, because it should be noted While Lana is successful, she isn't really mainstream successful as she's not a person you find on the hot 100, or doing arenas but small intimate theaters, her Coachella set wasn't really praised.. But yeah their tired of Taylor playing the Lana del rey cosplay cos Lana isn't clicking with the general public the way Taylor swift is, and Jack knows this to well,so he wants an artist to make the Lana formula mainstream acceptable..

Interesting interview with Simon Smith who co-wrote 'Private Show'. He says his songwriting career stalled after collaborating with Britney and that he had to quit the music industry and find a "normal job" to sustain himself. Article was published March 1 but haven't seen shared on here, so sorry if AP. Songwriter for Britney Spears explains why he gave it up for a 'normal job' after spending all his money WWW.UNILAD.COM Simon Smith reveals there's a certain 'juxtaposition' when trying to make it as a musician.

Britney has reportedly enlisted songwriter Diane Warren to pen her a new ballad. Warren wrote Britney's song "When Your Eyes Say It," as well as songs for Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Céline Dion, Cher, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Christina Aguilera and many more. An insider tells The Sun, “for Britney someone like Diane writing songs for the next stage of her career is amazing. They’ve worked together previously but during her pop era." They add: “Now it’s time for Britney to enter a new musical era. Diane loves Britney and they have been pictured together at events previously. Britney also saw that Diane has always been positive and supportive of her.” Earlier this year, The Sun claimed Charli XCX and Julia Michaels had been asked to write songs for Britney, a claim she adamantly denied: “Just so we’re clear most of the news is trash !!!” she posted on Instagram. “They keep saying I’m turning to random people to do a new album … I will never return to the music industry !!!” The Sun have previously reported that she was working on new music which Britney then quickly debunked and said she would never return to the industry, so take this with a HUGE pinch of salt. But just thought I would post it on here... Some of Diane's previous work

Years ago, I set out on the impossible task to document every single song ever pitched for a Britney project. Ever since then, hundreds upon hundreds of tracks have been uncovered, so I figured it would be easier to just list out all known recorded songs which aren't available for public consumption I've divided them into two categories: "confirmed" and "unconfirmed" Your opinion regarding the status of these songs may differ from mine but I tried my best to not only contextualize every bit of information but also be realistic (No. Britney has never recorded "over a hundred songs" for an album) Please let me know if I missed any obvious ones Confirmed: Unconfirmed:
