Katy Perry ignored pleas from her team to not reconnect with Dr. Luke for her musical comeback, sparking furious tensions ahead of the release of her new album - which features the 'empowering' upcoming single Woman's World.

The music producer, 50, was embroiled in a highly publicized legal battle against Kesha, 37, in which he was accused of ***ual, physical, and emotional abuse, with Kesha alleging that Perry, 39, was also a victim – something she denied.

Now, one year after the pair settled, Dr. Luke, whose real name is Łukasz Gottwald, has been listed as a co-producer on Perry’s upcoming single, prompting fury from fans who questioned how she can reconnect with the songwriter to promote female empowerment.

Insiders have exclusively told DailyMail.com Perry was advised against working with Dr. Luke, who together with Swedish songwriter Max Martin, previously produced some of her biggest tracks, but she refused to listen.

‘So many fans are already turning on Katy before she’s even released new music because Dr. Luke worked on this album with her,’ an insider told DailyMail.com exclusively. ‘She is trying to promote it on female empowerment – but working with Dr. Luke screams the opposite.

‘She was advised against working with him and was also advised to tone down the s** appeal – but she is ramping it up. She is listening to no one about how to promote the album, market it, etc.’

The source claimed Perry’s motivation for releasing a new album now was for a ‘paycheck’ after bowing out of American Idol in May and selling her back catalog to Litmus Music for $255 million in 2023.

They continued: ‘All of this comes after she sold her entire catalogue for money. This album isn’t about her showing how she is growing as an artist or her "new era" – it’s about a paycheck now that she’s done with American Idol.’

I don’t believe in those so-called “insiders”.

She’s clearly trying to recreate the same Teenage Dream formula, so this could only go one way: either the album flops hard like Smile or it’d be one of her best albums. :katyclown_makeup_mess_pie_meme_smile:

Plus after a major flop that Smile was, there’s probably pressure at Capitol Records for her to get the hits back so they were probably all for it.

So like Taylor Swift then? Any major artist is making albums to get money, that’s the biggest thing. Labels want money, they don’t care about artistry. If they did, Britney’s entire catalog wouldn’t be all songs about s** and be more songs like Mona Lisa or Rebellion (not that there’s anything wrong with that, but that’s part of the reason why she’s not respected as an artist, people have ***** about it).

Also let’s not pretend that Taylor’s artistry has evolved when she’s still writing break up songs and drama with Kim Kardashian from 7 years ago. This current album (which btw shows hardly any artistic growth) has been getting so many different versions to block other female artists from getting the top spot isn’t exactly a great look for her preaching for feminism. That album is long gone being considered an artistic album and more of an album that they can milk the blind fans of more money and a weapon to other fellow female artists trying to release albums and getting a fair shot at that number one spot. If DailyFail wanna write an article like this fantasy piece of work, then they should exchange the names with Katy and Taylor.

Also like I said, let’s not pretend that Capitol Records isn’t pushing for this after Smile flopped hard.

She's trying to recreate that album for money.  Not for success. However success = Money.
