The Mirror has revealed that Britney has entered advanced talks to transform The Woman In Me into a blockbuster, with a female-only writing team being brought in to tackle the script. Sony Pictures currently leads the negotiations, while Britney’s major songwriters have been given a heads-up that their music could be used for the adaptation of The Woman in Me.

“Britney’s book was a groundbreaking best-seller and raised the public’s consciousness with regards to how the entertainment industry and conservatorships work. She’s in advanced talks to turn it into a cinematic release and her songwriters have been informed that some of her songs will be used once it is greenlit. If necessary, the project could become a mini-series in the style of Genius: Aretha”.

"Female writers are being approached to turn the book into a script because only a woman can understand the nuances that made Britney’s role in her family, and position in pop culture, so complicated.”

How geeat that would be.. business is business. But she's said many times before that she doesn't like this kind of thing. Maybe she can make a deal with Sony, I don't know. She can improve on that instead of the last album. Because she no longer has the strength and desire to return to the stage to sing again.

That would be so cool if they made a movie about her book however I hope they have Britney's approval to make it.

It would be also cool if she participated in the making of it kind of like how Madonna was helping make a biopic of her life.

I would love for Britney to direct a movie with elements about her life, but not necessarily a movie about her book… She has said she doesn’t like that. She didn’t even want to do an unedited interview, she also rejected the invitation to speak in front of the Congress, so I doubt she’ll do a movie where whether she likes it or not will be edited to some degree.

If Britney wants it to happen and has approval over the writers/directors/producers then I'm for it.

Emerald Fennell would be a good choice for writer/director imo, something as bold as Promising Young Woman and she's also a huge Britney stan.

A theatre release would flop hard. It needs to be a streaming service release. Most people would be embarrassed to go see a Britney movie in theatres. Just being real. But a movie might be a good way to reveal details they couldn’t include in the book for legal reasons.

A biopic should only happen IF the person isn’t dead, in my opinion. Look at the awful Amy Winehouse biopic - no way in hell would she approve of that mess if she was alive.
