Except Adele did that with 4 albums and Taylor 15 albums with tons of different versions.

I wouldn't say it's the end of an era. Britney will always have that record for that time period. She was THE artist at that time.

Britney sold 70 millon albums in only 4 or 5 years. Top that.

Britney was the “it” girl and on top of the world at one point in time. She cemented a legacy that not many artists can or will ever recreate. She will always have those flowers. I can see why she doesn’t want that anymore. Staying on top is a lot of work and a lot of sacrifice to your mental health. Even in “real world” jobs. There is a metaphoric sigh of relief when your rule is over and it’s on to the next one. 
 

Taylor and Adele are monsters in their own right. If someone takes her record, it’s not going to take away from what she accomplished when she accomplished it. She set the bar.

Honestly if a more recent artist like Taylor or Adele surpasses the record, they have earned it. It's harder to sell physical albums these days. Taylor works so hard, treats her fans well, and is smart about marketing and the business side of it (even if it seems greedy or calculated at times).

Britney will always be respected for what she accomplished. she was ON TOP of the industry for years and nobody can take that away from her. Yes she's had many tough issues to deal with and maybe didn't live up to what we wanted out of her in the last decade, but what she went though was horrible and I'm just happy she survived it. I do think she will heal after a few years and we will see a happier side of her. Don't forget she's still in a legal battle and that is her focus right now.

thats what i came here to say haha half of taylor's sales are just re-recordings of the same crap and her fans still buy it but cool, do you....
