I feel like things sounding "dated" is a dumb argument. Disco music was super popular in the 70s and then came back in late 2019 early 2020s. What determines what's dated? Do we have to wait 50 years before people reuse use a sound to make it sound fresh? Same goes for the recent resurgence of 90s house/trance music. Is there a music manual that says whats the right amount of time between music trends to not sound dated?
