Stars Dance, the first solo studio album by American singer Selena Gomez was released on July 19, 2013, by Hollywood Records incorporating elements of EDM, electropop, dubstep, techno, disco, electro house and worldbeat with help from producers such as Rock Mafia and The Cataracs. It marked her first album to debut at number one on the Billboard 200 selling 97,000 copies in its first week of release and went Top 10 in several countries. The album also went to #1 in countries such as Canada, China, Mexico, Norway, Switzerland and Taiwan.

"Come & Get It", the album's lead single featured heavy electronic and worldbeat themes and became a Top 10 hit in the United States. It also entered the Top 10 in countries such as the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Canada, among others. The lead single won Gomez an MTV VIdeo Music Award and a Teen Choice Award at the 2013 ceremonies.

The second single, "Slow Down", failed to match the success of its predecessor, though did peak inside the top 30 in the United States. It was met with success on pop radio, reaching the top ten of the Mainstream Top 40 chart.

Gomez promoted the album through a number of high-profile performances, such as at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards and embarked on the 'Stars Dance Tour' in 2013 to further promote the release.

It’s a really fun album and solidified her status as a main pop girl! What are some of your other favorite songs?!

I like Love Will Remember, Slow Down, Come & Get It and Undercover.

Undercover should've been the 3rd single, it had top 10 written all over it.

I’m actually listening to the album afm after so many years, it’s so good. :shaking_shake_gold_yellow:
Undercover, Stars Dance, Save The Day, BEAT…these all would have been great third single contenders, especially Undercover and the title track.

Yeah this album and Revival are her best!

I wish I could've seen her live on one of those tours for those albums

I honestly don’t remember Stars Dance being this good. Definitely one of the more slept-on pop albums of the 2010s. But yes, the Revival era was when she really grew into her skin. Same Old Love was such a moment!

Totally!

I love Revival so much!
Its one of my fave albums from the 2010s.

Sober is my fave song on the album, it should've been a single.

Also btw have you listened to her album, Rare?

If so, what did you think of it?

In my opinion, I thought it wasn't as strong as Revival.

It was ok.

Lose You To Love Me was probably the best song on the record imo.

Love Sober. :yesplease_yas_agree_preach: You have such great taste!

And yeah, I have! I only listened to it once when it came out but I remember being obsessed with LYTLM. I agree however. I was a bit underwhelmed with them album but I also don’t think it was as bad as people made it out to seem.

What’s your all time favorite SG track?

Thanks!

I related to Sober alot because of a past relationship.

I actually went through a breakup around the time the album was popular,

so I REALLY loved and related to that song.

Yeah same!

I also like the bonus track, Boyfriend.

It had a cute video but idk why the song wasnt a hit.

My fave song from her is definitely: The Heart Wants What It Wants.

Its so beautiful yet powerful.

What is yours?

Aww, I’m sorry. Breakups suck, they do! 😫

Overall though, I think my favorite SG track would have to be Love You Like A Love Song. Yes I know it’s from her Disney days with The Scene but that song just never gets old, it’s absolutely timeless.

I also love Taki Taki, We Don’t Talk Anymore and It Ain’t Me.

My favorite solo track of hers would have to be either Slow Down or The Heart Wants What It Wants though.

Her discography is quite excellent and underrated!

Omg i was only a 20 year old twink when this came out :umomg_britney_shocked_wow_omg_surprised_eyes_wide:

But I love EVERYTHING about this album. When it came out i was mindblown, it was full on EDM/POP and I loved the conjunction of the two. Her vocals flow so well with it, and it was her first album without "The Scene" :mhm_britney_nodding_yes_mhmm:Her first venture into the music all alone.

Stars Dance

Save the Day

Undercover

Slow Down

Come & Get It

Nobody Does It Like You

all eternal bops :werk_britney_bw_black_white_dance_sexy_flirt_my_prerogative:
