I was dancing the moment I seen it! I was trying to learn the moves

I was quite young when it came out and I stanned Oopsney. I won’t lie, I didn’t like it much when I first heard it. It was such a new sound for her and my young ears didn’t appreciate it. But it grew on me over time and it’s one of my favourites of hers now. I was shook by the VMA performance though. She really was the moment that night.

My 16 yo self was ecstatic!! I remember watching Making the video on MTV and the VMA performance on MTV.  The VMA's were so talked about like Woah, I mean she was 19 and on top of the world!! Now, we all know it was just Britney paving the way for ICON status!! 

To this day it is one of my top 3 Britney songs and I had to learn the choreo for my Britney performance in my high school talent show!

Loved the performance and making the video and the choreography and of course the entire video. The song had to grow on me.

As a kid, I knew about the song and her iconic pop image, but I didn’t actually watch the VMA performance, or get into the Britney album until later. My parents we Very Strict about not letting me watch MTV or anything like that. So..  
 

..And still no other pop girl since has given a performance on that kind of level. Britney’s talent, stage presence, and charisma are untouchable. These other girls are cool, but they can’t do what She’s done. #BritneyDidThat

I was 11 years old and was mesmerized by her new image.  I loved every minute of it.

initially, it received lukewarm reception from me. like I wouldnt skip it but I was never excited about it. I also didnt like the VMA performance all that much.

 

only a few years later when I realized just how amazing this song was.  I don't think ive seen the VMA performancrle more than twice but watching it now it was truly iconic.
