I was so surprised Italy didn't give any points to Spain and that the song didn't catch on in my home country of the Netherlands. But then again, this was a weird year for Eurovision tbh.  CHANEL EFFING SLAYED HER PERFORMANCE

This just went ahead to prove that us Europeans are incapable of separating politics from absolutely anything. Eurovision is a SONG contest, not pity points contest. 

Europeans are like" awww look at these poor ukrainians getting ******** on the daily basis, let's let them win a singing contest that means absolutely nothing to make them feel better"

This all comes from a place of guilt because EU is doing next to nothing to help Ukraine and its citizens. Opening borders and sending food doesn't cut it. Neither does sanctioning Russia, because, believe it or not, European countries are still purchasing gas and oil from Russia. And this is Russia's most important source of money. 

Europeans were, are, and will forever be, a bunch of classist hypocrites who only care about their own well-being. Everything else is a lie we tell to others and ourselves.

The biggest reason for Ukraine not being helped is the fact that its not part of the European union. Ukraine has been too unstable to join and that means that EU isnt under law obligated to help Ukraine. If it was things would be very different, the main reason for Russias attack is to prevent Ukraine from joining EU and NATO because after that it would be near impossible for Russia to attack. Remember that this all is decided by EU parlament not by the citizens who voted in Eurovision. I agree that voters shouldve just donated to charity to help them or smth but theres only so much u can do without the parlaments (national and the entire EU union). Also the threat of nuclear war is holding EU back, if Russia didnt have nuclear weapons it would be over already, the fact is that if someone is crazy enough to start nuclear bombing its Putin and he threatened EU with nuclear weapons directly.
