As someone who's followed Kelly from the beginning and been to a lot of her early concerts, I can tell you whole heartedly that you are flat out wrong.

She has ALWAYS been like this, just because it's a TV show doesn't mean that every single moment is calculated.

It's not like Jimmy Fallon for crying out loud...
