The Tricon award is not the same as the Vanguard award, the Vanguard award was only about music videos meanwhile the Tricon award is fashion, acting and music so I think the only people that could be eligible are Cher, J.Lo, Diana Ross and Whitney

Also, someone needs to acknowledge the legend that Hilary Duff is. Not many people have pulled off successful music AND acting careers. Plus she was the style icon back in the day. Look at me, always fighting for #JusticeforHilaryDuff

Sounds like this award was specifically created for Gaga.. almost like MTV needed an incentive to give her to bring her on. Weird how she won most of the top awards that night too. And had all these different outfits on stand by. Almost like this was preplanned.
