We all know, Taylor is going to outsell Britney sooner or later. I don't think she's that far off.. and she's still not fading.

I don't understand her appeal that much, but many of her songs are pretty good. Max Martin has done a good job with her. 1989 was a very solid and good album imo

Wikipedia is not a reliable source. Britney Spears is the best selling female artist of this century, not Rihanna, not Gaga. Dont confuse records with albums. Britney should be 5th or 7th in terms of Album sales artist.

Not to steal anyone’s thunder but Britney was and still is ICONIC. Her debut was massive and she was and still is one of the most talked about celebrities ever. Going back to her debut I can’t explain the buzz around Britney. Everyone either wanted to be her or wanted to talk about her. The iconic BOMT uniform or the red cat suit for Oops. She influenced so many artists even today. There was nothing more exciting than watching TOTP, MTV or the Saturday shows etc to see Britney performing. I’m talking the good old days where you’d physically walk into a shop and buy a Britney CD. 

There’s just no comparison to someone like Taylor. I’m not taking away her success but Britney had star quality. Her VMA performances alone were talked about for months/years. Everybody knows who Britney Spears is. Even the older generation - she’s a household name. There’s no way other artists have that same ability. There’s just no comparison.
