i've said in this thread before that it's just not what popjustice is about and if you're hoping that they'll start discussing this in great detail you'll be waiting a long time. it's very rare that discussion over there revolves around a musician's personal life. at the very most a user might post something that has been reported in the news (like news of adele's recent separation as an example) and the community will just wish the musician well or briefly share their thoughts before moving back to discussions around music/charts/touring. that's how they want their community to be and it works well for them.

Lucado is seemingly off the radar since 2016. He acknowledged Britney’s capabilities as a mother and that she does not need to live her life under the c’ship. I (personally) don’t believe he cheated. i mean, britney basically said that all is well on instagram, and people still weren't satisfied so i don't think people would be happy with anything she says to be honest. i know people have a lot of theories about how much she controls of her social media and who is actually publishing these things, but she still had to record that video herself, so it's not a leap to think she agrees with it.

i think the difference here is that the victims in these cases had begun to speak out and seek support through the media before the movements to support them happened. before then while rumours were rife about harvey weinstien, as an example, there was little in the way of a movement against him because no one had come forward. so far it feels like people are projecting this onto britney when she might not even believe it to be the case for herself.

This was already discussed several pages ago... her team probably told her to make a video because the fans were worried. They more than likely did not mention #FreeBritney to her at the time. Until we get a non scripted interview of her saying she wants to stay in this conservatorship we as the fans have a right to worry about the legality and legitimacy of the conservatorship she is still under.
