Always hated this song. Never understood why people loved it when it was released. Sounds like it belongs on the soundtrack of Crossroads or some other similar cringey early 2000s chick flick.

Ok, there is NO way that they didn't have at least one take of britney actually singing the chorus. If you have a verse you have to have a chorus. They do magic with a bunch of artists so they could tweak the crap out of it if they only had bad takes. If they at least had Britney sing the first verse and the choruses they could have made it feature Katy Perry on the second verse and it would have sold way better. Katy was huger at that point. They also could have even gone all TTWE remix and had Sia on it too. But no, they had to hire a cheap impersonator which created controversy when they already had vocals from an artist that's sold 3.2 million albums and 25M songs that she's written and an artist that's sold over 18M albums worldwide and over 81M singles. This and scrapping a $1M music video makes me question the financial savvy of her team
