Unfortunately this does seem to be the case with weight loss. Courteney Cox I think said "Face or body, one has to give" - I'm paraphrasing but she said similar when talking about how her face got quite gaunt after losing a lot of weight.

It's noticeable now especially now that she's older. The baby fat is all gone.
