After I heard Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know and Anticipating from the playlist I couldn't get enough of Britney. I listened to BOMT and OIDIA all the way through and loved every second of it ^{maybe not Dear Diary so much}. Then I decided to look up her old music videos on YT and I absolutely fell in love with her. You see where this is going. I listened to Britney, ITZ, and Blackout just in time before she released Glory and my life was changed forever. Her albums just got better and better! (I hadn't heard BJ at this time, or Circus and FF for that matter). I even bought a japanese version of Glory just so I could listen to Mood Ring - the first physical copy of music I've bought since 2004. 

I am basically obsessed with her (stanning? is that the right word?) and my gf thought it was cute at first but now she thinks it's a little weird. My coworkers thought it was funny but the other day one of my friends said it was getting a little creepy lol. As a straight guy that works in IT it's really hard to find other fans that love her as much as I do, especially without being called gay/love etc. and I am so glad to have found this community and see that there are many out there who share my love for the Queen, the one true God, the Holy Spearit herself, Britney Jean Spears.

Sorry for the word vomit, but any other 'new' fans out there? How did you become a fan? I wanna hear your stories! 

Yeah im straight too so don't listen to what some of the people on here say! Like just thought she was attractive so then then I lisetened to her music and loved it! Nothing wrong with it! but welcome

So glad to hear you seen the light  Im 29 and been a fan from BOMT era and the first thing that pops in my head is im so jealous of all the things you can watch and hear for the first time, lol... i wish i could undo all of it and watch everything from the first time again  

have you listen to all the unreleased tracks yet?

Dude! Same here, for real. I've been aware of her my whole life, never really hated her, just the genre. I was actually your typical heavy metal elitist growing up. I was into the pop punk stuff, too. I mean, I was a fan when I was 5 and BOMT came out, but that's beyond the point. I was not a real fan until slightly before Glory's release as well. I became obsessed with her back catalogue also... and the Youtube videos. Her magic just took a long time to work on us. It's crazy how similar your story is to mine.

Well regardless, people in society run around with this exact same mindset so it's not really coming from the fanbase. We have sadly embraced it and reinforced the stereotype instead of helping break it.

I became a fan in 2002 after watching the I love rock n roll video on TV. I was amazed by her beauty and *** appeal. My ex GF looked at Britney as a competition. She was a fan as well (she even dedicated a britney song to me after our breakup)

I've heard some. There was a thread on reddit that had her unreleased tracks. I listened to some from ITZ era I believe

that's awesome. That's honestly why I wanted to post this. I felt like I was the only one experiencing this weird thing with her. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one

Great to see new fans. I hope you enjoy exhale, just try to avoid getting sucked into some of the negativity that goes on whenever she releases anything. You're always going to get "old fans" or fans that have "been here for her since BOMT" claiming to turn in their stan card after she does something they don't like, but they always seem to come back. So try not to be influenced by them too much lol.

With that said, I've always been a fan of hers but it's great to hear stories like yours because I've always had to hide my "stan" side of Britney from family and friends lol. But they all love Beyonce. I get so annoyed when they praise Beyonce as if she's the queen of everything (I don't mind her, I just find her overrated) for the most basic things.
