And before y'all start comparing her to Beyonce, Rihanna, and Taylor...

Beyonce has Jay-z, visual albums, and entire streaming service under her control and has always collaborated with "It" girls like Shakira, Gaga, and rappers like Kendrick to stay relevant:quirkney:

Taylor has country and pop fans behind her :donewithit:

....and Rihanna...well Rihanna slays :saycheese:

Even Katy and Gaga's new singles flopped...

Where is Kesha?

Where are Jessica Simpson and Mandy Moore? Huh?

QUEEN BRITNEY.

Although the comparisons are nice to see, its not a fair statement to make. The industry landscape has changed. Artists that appeal to younger audiences are made or broken by their streaming numbers. If you were to compare Ariana's stream numbers it would paint a different picture.

Still, sle Brit for out selling so many 'big' artists one way or another!

I can't believe sales for Usher album ... Where is his damn fans?

Him and Britney both needs to leave RCA ... RCA don't know what to do with Usher and they don't know what to do with Britney.

They have way too many artists on their roster and not enough money to properly handle them all

Beyonce also pretty much made up that whole cheating B.S to sale her album... wonder what gimmick she'll use next!

If you look back she's had a gimmick every era since the Single Ladies era!

I'm pretty sure Ariana streaming units total for any of her albums doesn't equal to 20M album copies though. Not even with the TEA.

We should stop lowkey discrediting Britney and saying she sold that many copies because of the music market being healthy. Even back then not everyone did that. How many artists were selling that much in 2000?

Edit: Actually I got an idea. Let's see by how much % the market declined from 2000 to 2014 and inflate My Everything's sales. Because of a 67.2% decrease in album sales My Everything sold 1.65M instead of... 5.03M. :brityawning:

Aaaaah Britney. Always winning.

Exactly, people like to act like she's some forgotten flop when in fact her sales can still be compared to the big sellers of today's industry. Like, I don't care if X artist sold 10k or 20k more than her, just the fact that we can compare them and that when she releases an album in 2016 she still competes for the number 1 spot is really impressive and this fanbase should appreciate that.
